We would like to get your vote on setting a max fee for the transactions. It would be implemented in the hard fork we will implement in the coming days if voted. https://forum.arionum.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=20

Could you comment on the fact that there is already a working GPU miner? Whats being done about that

The hardfork which is being prepared plans to deal with the gpu mining, and reduce it's advantage to get the cpu also viable for mining.

I hope that you do more than just make cpu viable for mining. Its one of the main points of this coin so nothing else should be viable except for it. Hope you can sort it out

So 2 weeks after release, instead of further developing the project, dev's creating a hardfork. Nice GPU miner release Smiley Hope the project would still run positively up! I'll be watching it closely and be ready to jump in ASAP when the hardfork kicks in.

Arionum has been continuously developed in the last weeks. It's still early beta so it's normal for a hard fork to happen.

I appreciate that you're dealing with the GPU problem because if it isn't CPU only I won't be mining it.

But what's to come of the current coins? The ones I've worked so hard for are now diluted by all the GPU mined coins.

I do not consider few days of gpu mining as dilution. The number of coins generated would have been the same if it were to be cpu or gpu.

@mrcowboy82 install the openssl binaries and reboot

IMPORTANT UPDATE

In order to increase the fairness of Arionum and stay true to the inital claim of being a cpu coin, we will be changing the mining algorithm starting the block 10800.

Also, starting block 10800, the maximum transaction fee will be 10 ARO.

Please update your nodes before the 10800 block. During the blocks 10790 and 10810 no transactions will be accepted by the nodes. (pool payments will be sent after block 10810)

After the 10800 block, you will also need to update your wallets as the hardcoded fee has been changed.

The miners will also need to be updated after block 10800.

Great decision to eliminate GPU again.
Its insane at people mine privately with GPU with is bring concern of centralization of mining and hence supply.

When will be new wallet code and new miner code will be provided.

Please do outline detailed steps to transition during and after hardfork to avoid any chaos.

The new mining alghoritm uses:
threads=1
memory=524288
time=1

Also, starting block 10800, the maximum transaction fee will be 10 ARO.

Expected new hashrate on 2x E5-2670 - 18H/s
Expected new hashrate on GTX 1080 - 25 H/s

Hi dev,

I replaced licence, lightArionumCLI and miner (windows) and tested on an i3 laptop. It gets 0.8 H/s. Is this happening because we are pre 10800 block or should I change anything else?

(all miners check to rename miner.php manually. it doesn t have .php extension and it doesnt replace the old miner.php on c/p)

I miss when crypto was about decentralisation.

Try different nodes.

Crypto was created to liberate the individual. Decentralisation matters.

The hashrates will decrease significantly with the new update. Keep in mind that in my tests, gtx 1080 gives 24H/s.

You should update the miner only after the block 10800.

@z1ka Tried the GUI Wallet as well?
