So 2 weeks after release, instead of further developing the project, dev's creating a hardfork. Nice GPU miner release Smiley Hope the project would still run positively up! I'll be watching it closely and be ready to jump in ASAP when the hardfork kicks in.
Arionum has been continuously developed in the last weeks. It's still early beta so it's normal for a hard fork to happen.

I appreciate that you're dealing with the GPU problem because if it isn't CPU only I won't be mining it.

But what's to come of the current coins? The ones I've worked so hard for are now diluted by all the GPU mined coins.
Me too.. for today i just and looking for CPU only coin.
Hope this project success.

Will we need to do anything different or download anything if already mining on Aropool?

I'm in trouble.
I make the mining guide> I go to the pendants>, so the balance never shows up in my wallet.
just disappear and nothing comes in my wallet! I also find no value in paid transactions. This is already days like this!
what could it be?  Cry Cry

I do not consider few days of gpu mining as dilution. The number of coins generated would have been the same if it were to be cpu or gpu.

@mrcowboy82 install the openssl binaries and reboot

IMPORTANT UPDATE

In order to increase the fairness of Arionum and stay true to the inital claim of being a cpu coin, we will be changing the mining algorithm starting the block 10800.

Also, starting block 10800, the maximum transaction fee will be 10 ARO.

Please update your nodes before the 10800 block. During the blocks 10790 and 10810 no transactions will be accepted by the nodes. (pool payments will be sent after block 10810)

After the 10800 block, you will also need to update your wallets as the hardcoded fee has been changed.

The miners will also need to be updated after block 10800.

From discord:

Quote
The new mining alghoritm uses:
threads=1
memory=524288
time=1

Also, starting block 10800, the maximum transaction fee will be 10 ARO.

Expected new hashrate on 2x E5-2670 - 18H/s
Expected new hashrate on GTX 1080 - 25 H/s

I updated the miner. Seems like the CPU mining is slowed down as well. i5-8400 @ 2,8Ghz used to get 75H/s. Now i only get around 8H/s. Are the GPU miners slowed down more then this? If everything is just slowed down by 90% it doesn't make sense...

I miss when crypto was about decentralisation.

And there goes the 10800 block.

Glad to see that the community came to a conclusion and the devs performed accordingly.

Nice, will start up my cpus when I'll arrive at home. Anyone knows if there is any change of the miner or is still the old one (the one from the aropool.com)?

updated the wallet and miner. Hash rate went from 40 down to 1.5 running an i7 6700

So gpu still gets 24hs and cpus down to 1hs? How does this make sense?

With the current hashrate which the miner gives out and the current difficulty, it takes a week to find the next block. Is it possible for developers to adjust the difficulty manually?

I thought you were going do decrease GPU hashrate and not CPU? I'm now getting like 3 H/s on a i7 7700k which before gave me around 70 H/s

Whats up with that?

If you predict a 1080 gets 25 H/s its still magnitudes better than one of the fastest 4 core hyperthreaded cpu on the market right now

The mining algorithm is now following a different set of rules; hashrates will now change, as will the difficulty of the network.

Old miners will probably report a certain hashrate but those shares shouldn't be accepted by the pool.

We have manually updated the difficulty as we were stuck on the block 10801.

Everyone running nodes, should update again. (git pull)

The miners should also be updated to the latest versions.

@draceus0 The expected hashrate for a i7 7700k is between 8 and 11. If you're getting only 3, there's a problem in your config. Try more hashers.

As a comparison, a GTX1080 should be getting around 21-24H/s atm.

Do no be alarmed by the new low hashrates, they are low for everyone and that's what was expected.

So the issue with gpu miners are not fixed then? If a 1080 gets more than 2x my CPU hashrate its still very viable

So which miners from OP are working right now?

@draceus0 at only 2x difference, i think it's not viable to gpu mine. Consider the power usage as well, price, etc.

@binlist The java and the php miner in the OP are updated.

I'm at ~1.5 on an i7-4790k. Is that about what I should expect? When you say there could be a problem in config, how would you check that?

Which miner are you using? If it's java, delete the old config.
If it's php, you need to open more instances (1 per thread).

I get around 5.6 on PHP , 6.2 on Java and on the auto miner I get like 1 H/s
Not sure how to get the 8-11 H/s you said possible on i7 7700k
