Ooooh boy, i've been waiting for this!
It's very easy to make enemies but as you are part of Bismuth's dev team, let's get the party started.
You are lucky, i've been following your project since the beginning.

Where was Bismuth 2 months after launch?
You were here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1896497.580
No pool, lack of solo mining documentation, you mined the hell out of it for 2 months.

When was Bismuth stable?
Hard fork after hard fork, it's been months.

Where is the fail?
The fail was Bismuth's GPU miner that worked over one month before it was released to the public and you were all calling it optimized CPU miner.
Not to mention that europool's mining pool was down every day and payments were made once a day ( if they were made  Smiley )

The main difference between Arionum and your coin is TRANSPARENCY! You can see things as they are, you can use clouds to mine if you afford. This coin has no premine and is way ahead of you within 2 months.

I call your reaction FUD as you are threatened by a better coin!

That was my personal opinion, not as a member of any team. At the end of the day I'm a person with opinions even if anyone likes them or not.
P.S. I don't know why you "Ooooh boy, i've been waiting for this!" for such a long time? Feel free to express your opinion in Bismuth ann thread or wherever you want. Ahh.. and don't forget to use your main account when posting next time Wink Cheers!

P.S.S. Transparency?!  Grin Yes I saw, the first block was mined 30h before the ann thread was posted so mean time 450-500 blocks were mined which is a lot of ARO at 1000 coins per block.
FUD much? You're complaining that the genesis block was mined 30H before? really? You saw that block height 2 was mined around the same time this thread was posted?

I was mining early on shortly after launch too. Nothing really raised my suspicion. The devs seem honest in the discord.

This coin has already made some fair development jumps since launch. It's going to be something good I think.

Always doubt.

"Decentralized revolution"

OP should rename ANN thread to

[ANN] [ARO] | Arionum | PHP Based | Centralized Revolution

+1
Epic fail of this project!  <--- personal opinion, not as a team member of any other project, as the guy below pointed. (EDITED)

A lot of folks are confusing some perceived lack of fairness of miners "reward" with a failure to decentralize.

Again, transactions are _not_ picked by miners. Miners _confirm_ via "discovering" a valid hash for proto-blocks that _nodes_ pick. Not miners.

So, a few miners having a large % of the hashrate isn't alarming from a decentralization standpoint, these guys are just spending lots of money to acquire more ARO very early in the project. This is a valid choice for them; it doesn't hurt ARO 'cept for FUD'ders who haven't bothered reading about ARO or understanding where the decentralization comes from.

Decentralization of transaction / block formation / validation of blocks --> these tasks happen at the nodes, not the miners.

Miners are not the sources of decentralization for this coin...

Not sure how else I can describe it, since people seem intent on ignoring this.

Is like you are saying that Bitcoin is decentralized, which is not. Anyway, good that you know where the decentralization comes from and we don't.

Maybe, but still the first 250+ blocks were mined by the same miner. Anyway...
OK ProEvo1433 Wink your project is awesome, my bad!
So, since I bumped up your thread too many times, good bye!

Well, given your statements, you clearly did not know for Arionum; I made no statement about Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is vulnerable to miner collusion at 51% because miners choose transactions.

Pointing out that Arionum is different, I had hoped, would clear up your confusion why those of us who are aware of how Arionum works recognize that small numbers of miners with large hashrates aren't concerning along the FUD dimension you mentioned.

Hope that clears it up for you.

Here is an update with the memory upgrade.  It was somewhat disappointing...  I was only able to get 26 H/S for my threadripper 1950X with the quad channel and yet my dual channel ram was getting 28 H/S.  What is interesting is i then tried 8 sticks (4GB each) of dual channel ram at a much lower speed b/c stock speed would not boot, I was able to gain 1 more H/S (29 H/S). I was able to boost to +2 H/s (30 H/S) at a higher clock speed but my system crashed after an hour.  This coin is depended on memory performance!  I am no overclocker so I am up for tips.  These 8 sticks of 4GB are running at 3066 MHZ, but are rated for 3600 and I boosted to voltage to 1.45V (stock is 1.35V).

Also I am running GPUs mining another coin on this rig, so if you remove this from your setup, you might be able to run the memory at the higher speed for the extra 1/2 H/S.  Balancing GPU, CPU and system memory is an art!

I experienced similar instances when I mined Verium. I will review what changes I made to optimize the hash related to RAM.

Maybe the performance difference is related on the Timing of each RAM and the dual/quad channel specification..

And the most important question of them all - what miner are you using - PHP or JAVA? Also which wallet do you refer to?
Most probably you have the not optimized PHP one. Let us know, so we can help you.

Anyone else having issues with the shares/hash ratio today (Java miner)?
I have 150k hashes but only 1 share. Normally that would be ~6-10 (?) shares. Everything else looks good, RTT, H/s, Argon% all what they usually are.
Started after the pool downtime yesterday.

The total hash was way down yesterday to 40-80 KH/s and way up today to 170 KH/s.  Assuming some major cloud or botnet miner was down and is now back up.  I'm getting about 1/3 less coin via pool today versus yesterday.

I think it's crazy how Arionum, much like RavenCoin, manage to catch enough awareness for a respectable amount of trade volume to happen through their Discord & Escrows.

Like Arionum doesn't have an exchange, and doesn't have a specified date. Yet its hashrate and price are maturing well.

Always doubt.

Funny you mention this, ARO is my first coin I have ever got involved with at such and early stage and I was curious if other coins also received such activity and attention being so new.

I agree! Considering it's not even on an exchange yet, the hash rate is quite impressive. Can only go up from here! With that said, are there any plans to get listed on an exchange yet? (Easy ones like Cryptobridge, etc, as a starting point)

I don't think it is something specific. There are thousands of guys like you and me who are looking forward to see the next in turn CPU mining coin and just gamble on it. Everybody hopes that it will be the next Monero, but we all know it won't.
Yes, we don't spend money on useless (IMO) GPU rigs or unstable ASICS, we just want to try our processors. Currently there are a handful of such coins - ARO, Koto etc. It is just a justified risk, high hashrate does not mean anything about the coin's future if you ask me.

Using the https://github.com/arionum/lightWalletCLI, I'm getting the following error when I execute ./lightArionumCLI.php:

Fatal error: Default value for parameters with a class type hint can only be NULL in ./arionum/lightWalletCLI/lightArionumCLI.php on line 248

Any help to getting it to run would be greatly appreciated - can't start mining till I get the wallet generated, and don't have a windows machine.

EDIT: Its due to a older version of php on my system - error goes away if php 7.2 is used!

Hi, is there any specific reason that you stick to PHP miner and wallet?
It is more than highly recommended to move to the java miner and the GUI wallet (if you have the proper environment to run on, it can run on Linux if you dont have a Win machine). Hash rate is optimized much more.

As a rule of thumb, you should trust only github links and compile yourself:

miner: https://github.com/ProgrammerDan/arionum-java
wallet: https://github.com/arionum/lightWalletGUI
