About me
Hi, I'm a software/hardware expert with over a decade of engineering experience in top-tier startup. I currently work for a global electronics and manufacturing corporation by day. By night, I write advanced methods in Technical Analysis of timeseries data (at the moment).  My CV and profile available by private message.

The Premise
  • We can build and operate a sustainable growing mining operation using low-cost real estate and natural energy resources to offset the cost of mining cryptocurrencies.

Strategic Vision
  • We will begin with a handful of ASIC miners (7+ TH/s each) inside of a warehouse property at elevation in an arid/desert climate in the Western US.
  • Our profits will be primarily invested in more ASICs while we divert a portion into savings for Solar and Wind energy systems.
  • These energy systems will fuel battery technologies used to offset energy costs during peak periods in energy expense (daytime) and prevent outages in the event of power failure.
  • We will continue to expand until we reach a price equilibrium that results in the maximization of energy efficiency for hash generation.
  • We will expand to other locations and offer our mining services to the global backbone.

Purpose
  • We wish to offset mining in foreign markets with our own.
  • We want to usher in a more responsible use of energy for mining.
  • We want to learn and develop cryptocurrency marketplace in the US
  • We want to develop a sustainable business while creating a profit for those involved in the project after expenses.

Anyone interested should please message me directly and attach a copy of your resume/CV and cover letter explaining why you want to participate in this undertaking and how you intend to contribute to its success.

Thank you.

Seems a good project. Honestly, if I live in the US, I may want to join in your project even though I'm not a technical guy for electricity or solar system but can learn about it. To build a sustainable mining operation based on the solar system you need more than $100K, right? it's better if you can collect $1 Million to start this project, don't you want to launch an ICO after finding some business partners? wish you luck.

That's what you would think, BUT I do not think this way. I think we could get off the ground with a few miners in a smaller space. I don't think we will compete well on the global market until we reach at least 60 machines at $1400 - $1700 USD each (~$100K), but we can start with as little as 1/4 of that and see a sizeable cash flow while we continue to acquire the next set of ASICs.

We also want the cash flow to bring returns on investment, so that the investors have access to liquid assets while we expand. It's all a factor of our needs and abilities to optimize our growth functions.

The idea about combining solar energy and cryptocurrency mining is so old and discussed so many times in the forum.I`ve never seen a successful  crypto mining company using solar energy. The most important questions for me are:Will you build this as a legit business? Will you pay taxes for your profits,if you have any profits?
I don`t mind if you don`t pay taxes,i don`t live in the USA and i`m not a US citizen. Grin
If you pay taxes, this will change your financial plans and lower the future dividents for the shareholders.
Anyway,good luck with this project.

The additional energy needed to cool mining operations in desert regions will offset the advantage of using the Solar power to generate that energy. If you do this to generate income to reach ROI on your Solar hardware, then you are going to have to run this for years.

Many people have tried this and failed, so you will have to come up with something very special to make this work. ^smile^

Ya
Solar mine will face serious problem of overheat and cost of cooling system will be big problem need to be overcome

Anyway,  you should check for Envion, maybe their mining unit look more realistic and less heating problem
Maybe you can learn from them in production of solar mining

This is great. Thanks for this conversation. @Kakmakr @JWKY see below.

Taxes
  • Yes, there will be capital gains on any exchange trade for US currency. We will mine into our own private exchange wallet powered by Bisq.
  • Using Bisq, every transaction will occur on an entirely private exchange using peers willing to transact in the sums we disclose.
  • WE will pay taxes. Although we don't subscribe to the current administration's narcissistic dysfunctions, we will honor the infrastructure of our government and it's systems of revenue bound by revenue laws.

Climate/Location
  • There are hot deserts. There are cold deserts. There are microclimates in the West that provide stable temps year round with low humidity to protect the components.
  • We are clever enough to tap into quantitative methods for securities transactions. Similarly, we will regularly study the historic almanac for the locations we choose and prospect.
  • We can implement the installation on movable racks. So if we have to, we can tear down and relocate to even better locations over the long run.
  • A colder location at elevation is preferred because we can ventilate and cool the systems with ambient air.

@OgNasty - Have you seen the ASIC miners from Canaan? Where are you located? If I had to guess, San Diego. I took a look at all your resources. You are on a good path with this. After registration, I wonder how to mint a seat? Let's be in touch, mind if we take the convo to PM?

This is a project I am VERY interested in.  I myself am an entrepreneur and this is something I have started working/planning for the last month or so.  I am quite good at social media, and believe that doing Youtube videos (we do not have to reveal where we are located) will also bring revenue in through ads on the channel that can then be invested into more miners as well.  This is something that is very hot on Youtube and something new people love to watch videos about.

I currently have 2 buildings rented and available in a Western US state in a mid Western state I have one building available.

I am new to forums and just started using this one last night because I had questions about the GPU miners that I've started building (which are profitable in about twice the time that ASIC miners are, so 4 - 6 months for profitability is not bad)

If you're interested in talking more please let me know.

I read your thread! WOW! You did exactly what I've been wanting to do! That's so awesome!  I do have a bit more freedom as I do not have an HOA and I have 2.5 acres, plus two buildings that I can add panels too.  I think you have done an amazing job and hope to learn what I can from you.

Thank for showing that it can be done!

I think there is potential to combine solar/wind/tide with a mining operation but I too would be wondering about ROI given the high cost of the back end system required to make the power clean, continuous and reliable. Solar panels are not the kicker its the batteries inverters control and mangement systems that get expensive.  My background is 26 years in the IBEW on big job big name projects - data centers, colleges, campus.  Installing limited amount of solar (as we do not do residential) limited to being a Unionized sub to some of the bigger guys in NJ and PA.  New Jersey had an excellent program for many years and there are plenty of businesses who resell their excess power back to the grid at not so favorable rates.  What if those businesses used the excess power to run their own rigs in house ?  It might be far more profitable to them to do so even after paying for hardware, management - perhaps a monthly share of the mining revenues

I am toying with the idea of selling rigs to businesses/wealthy homeowners who want an alternative source of income and are excited to stick their toe into Crypto.  We would profit off the sale of the rig and take a share of the mining right in the script - dual / tri mining concept - or perhaps create our own pool.

Where I live Parents routinely buy their teenage kids gaming systems costing thousands and thousands of dollars.  Why couldn't the rig be a kick ass gaming computer in the evenings - earn money and heat the basement all day and night.  If its not so profitable in the Summer months no big deal have a script to run only at night or cooler days.
