What happened:: When sending 10BTC to Yobit I made the error of sending it to a BCC (BitcoinCash address on Yobit) because I had "Hide Zero Balance" checked and I take responsibility that I made the original mistake, not Yobit.  However they have the ability to recover my BTC using private keys and I even offered to pay them 2 BTC for their time of my 10 BTC but they have not answered over 7 support tickets and totally ignored them.

Yes I made a mistake but that does not mean they can just profit from it and keep the BTC they should do the right thing and because they can simply recover the BTC which they no doubt have but are not giving any of it back to me that is the wrong thing to do, or in this case to not do.

Scammers Profile Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=406594

Amount Scammed: 10 BTC
Payment Method: BTC
Proof of Payment: They have the proof of payment in multiple support tickets, I am not going to link to it because someone else could claim they also sent it.
PM/Chat Logs: Many screenshots of every support ticket including in Russian.
Additional Notes: Do the right thing Yobit, yes I f^&ked up and it was my initial error but  you should not just steal my money by ignoring me.  At least pay me back 8 BTC as I offered.

I have sent a PM to Yobit here also with the TX ID as proof but they have not been on-line since the 13th of December.

The Moderators on Yobit chat are not helpful and all they say is "This is not a place for support" yet they could easily see that a support ticket is at least looked at I have more than 7 over them over the past 3 weeks but nothing, no reply or even auto-reply.

Thieves.

Still no reply from support.

Yobit please do the right thing, you have the ability to recover my 10 BTC.

By not doing so and ignoring me is equivalent to THEFT.

so you sent funds to an incorrect address and therefore its the sites fault?

all alt exchanges are under severe overload right now, its well known that support tickets are taking time to be seen.

even if the site is being slow, calling them out as a scam wont help your cause at all. if I were you I would tweet and email them about this and say sorry that you ballsed up in the first place

I doubt legal action would work because yobit's terms and conditions cover it from any user mistakes. A long wait for a reply to a support ticket is the OPs best hope.

What a stupid remark, did you even bother to read my original post.  Show me where I said the initial error was Yobit's fault.

They have had over 10 tickets and not answered any of the and I will call them scammers until I get my money back.  It is not like I bought a car and wrecked it and want a refund, I sent to the wrong address which they can recover using private keys.   They have no email address and do not reply to tweets or support tickets.  Your advice is coming from someone without any experience in dealing with Yobit by the sounds of it.

You think they are just going to let that 10BTC go to waste or keep it for themselves?   They thus far have kept it to themselves which means they are stealing from me, as they have the ability to rectify the situation but are not honest people so they are not doing so.

Those terms and conditions clearly state that Yobit is not liable for any possible losses, nothing is lost here, it is sitting in my BCC address (unless they have already taken it out and spent it which is more likely the case) and it is recoverable.  If it is recoverable, then how can it be lost?

Had their terms said "If you make a mistake, and we can profit from it, we will do so without giving a fuck about our customers" then you would have a valid point, but the funds are not lost, just sitting in the wrong wallet, easily rectified by using the private keys to recover the BTC but they are not doing so thus far or if they have done so, they have kept the lot for themselves.

Either way, not one single reply to 10 support tickets, what does that tell you?   There is not even an attempted reply of Plausible deniability from them.

In 2016 they took about four weeks to answer a support ticket. Now with the massive influx of new users they probably take four months to respond. Poloniex and bittrex can take even longer than that.

It's outrageous anyone should have to wait so long, but none of these exchanges have expanded their support staff numbers enough to cope with the increase in users.

I recently emailed Yobit Support with no response, I have continued to send about 1 email a week, claiming the similar thing, with no response. Anybody else finding it difficult so contact them?
They respond to me well after the issue is dealt with, usually 3-4 weeks later.
This is common and one of the reasons they have lots of complaints on the forum.
Not sure why they do not hire more folks to deal with the issue,it would improve things for every one.

Very common, hope that answers your question.

I have multiple tickets some of them coming over a month old and still no replies.

And they have not used the Yobit account on here since the 13th of December.

They are probably reading the scam accusations though.

If you are Yobit PLEASE do the right thing and just give me back 8 BTC of the 10 BTC.

Thieves.

Yobit has no obligation of returning the money to you. Clearly it was you who sent the wrong coin to the wrong address, and they can easily claim that security of their entire site is more important than one customer's funds.

As much as we'd love you to receive back your funds, and as much as we believe so to be the fair resolution for you, it's ultimately up to yobit. They hold the coins in their wallet right now, you do not. If they don't agree, what can you do?

Plus yobit's garbage support isn't anything new. Especially for questions like these, even good support have a hard time to figure it out. You'll be lucky to even receive a response within a month from them, i'd say.

Buy this lesson, don't send coins to the wrong coin address again... It's costly to do.

a reputable site would return the money , this has happened here with another exchange ( can't remember it though ) and they returned the money to the sender but it took time

sadly OP I can't see you getting paid unless a miracle happened , yobit isn't answering most of the tickets and in your case they need to answer the ticket and do some work so I really doubt that they will pay

keep your thread up , maybe in the future yobit will settle their past issues

learning the best with the issues you experience and a very detailed explanation of the settlers of all, this is a very important information for those who have not experienced.
no one wants to lose, but the error also can not be ignored.
hopefully can be solved with the best possible, no problem that can not be solved with good intentions. concerned about this issue.

I tried to find some information about this shady exchange but there is no company address, no founders... just some news that it's been investigated for fraud in Russia.

Yes that is true, it is not as though I am not admitting I made the initial error, which I did in my OP but that does not dissolve them from ownership of their sites responsibility to do the right thing by their customers.

Thanks I will be keeping the thread alive, I hope they can just return it while the BTC price is low, there is more incentive then.  It is not as though if they do not return it they will just leave it sit there, either way they are going to recover the 10 BTC and either keep it for themselves or return all or part of it to me, so it is not like they won't recover it, we all know they will, the big question is will they do the right thing?

Thanks and that is right.  I am only asking for 8 BTC back so it is not like they will lose out of this they will make 20k + just for using private keys to recover my funds and move them from one wallet to the other.

I am not rich and cannot afford to lose this, words cannot describe the stress I am suffering everyday because of this.

Why would they spend time and work to earn 2 BTC when they can spend the same time for 10 BTC by transferring to their own BTC wallet ?
Sad, but it is Yobit. I hope I am wrong, but seeing their background in customer care, I am not very optimistic...

There is not much information about yobit on the internet, I´ve found this article ( I think its russian language) and it does not look good for yobit victims
