Hello there! I think this is my first post. I'm an Anarcho-capitalist a.k.a. Voluntaryist and I've had my eye on bitcoins for about a month now. I knew what they where and man I should have investigated more thoroughly while they where worth less! DAMN IT! haha

Oh well I've made up my mind. I want to get some bitcoins but I keep on seeing post about people getting scammed and not receiving the coins and all that.

I am wondering, what is the best way to get ahold of some coins? And btw I'm in Canada so I'm not sure the dwolla thing works. or does it? MtGox says "Dwolla (US)" this is why i ask.

So anyway I'd be very happy to figure the best way to safely buy some bitcoins cuz I am pretty damn sure they are going to skyrocket some more.

Thanks in advance!

Dwolla is USA only.

Hop onto irc, irc.freenode.net #bitcoin-otc

Tell them you want to buy some coins for interac (or cash, if you can find someone that lives near you).

That's the easiest way.

What about mtGox? Would that be safer then to go on irc and buy from someone that could (or not) be a scammer?

I thought i was preatty geeky and new a thing or 2 about computers.

But I have no idea what freenodes irc are.

Care to explain? I've been on the site and it really not that user friendly haha.

I need to buy bitcoins BEFORE it becomes user friendly!

Also, I wondering if any Canadians own bitcoins. And if so, how the hell did you do it? And has anyone in canada used mtGox?

First time we do business with those guys, they input the wrong account and send the money to somebody else. We call them:
"Hey, where's our money?"
"Oh sorry! We fucked up. Here it is, we take the loss."

Been with them ever since.
