Could I build a decent mining rig starting with 3 GTX 970s?

I'm new to this but I really wanna get involved. I have an opportunity to get some GPUs, wondering if it's worth it or not. I know there are calculators and all that I'm just not familiar with the approximate power I'd get from 3 GTX 970s.

The first 970 was free, I got it from a family member. And I'm going to buy 2 for $400 using profits from cryptos. Is that a good deal for the 2 970s? Should I buy Radeon Rx 480s instead?

On equihash, each one would do around 300 sol/s. I personally wouldn't buy them at $200 each, but it's up to you and how expensive alternative options are.

$200/ 970 is too much.

My broken number bending calculator says 3x970 can do more than $20 daily.

I get the same figures... about $20 or more a day. But $200 a card.. no to much.
