Yes I have heard that Mukesh ambani's son Akash Ambani is the core head of the project. But if jio coin comes into existence it will revolutionize crypto market of India just like they have made 4g available to every household of India. crypto currency will also be the new trend of Indian market.

Jio coin is Mukesh Ambani's son Akash Ambani's idea. He is leading the project. If it is going to be launched, it'll be a revolutionary step into the cryptoworld because, the brandname "Jio" itself has gained trust from Indian people as a telecom service.. and we can't ignore Ambani's influence in government.

It would be really interesting to watch out how government reacts to this. As far as heard before govt were going to ban ICO or any other coins where people raise money. Now if reliance planning to bring their coin will govt change their decision or will get softer on cypto currency?

Jio is amongst the largest telecom providers in India now so they have no dearth of bandwidth or data centres. I'd be surprised if some of them don't already have mining units running full scale.
Whatever Mukesh Ambani touches become legitimate so if the Jiocoin turns out to be true, I think India may well become the next hotspot for bitcoin trading. I just hope they don't come up with some closed, masternode kind of system. CPU/GPU based PoW would be exciting.

All that has been speculated till now is the formation of a team under the young Ambani scion. What must he been thinking? Ambanis have always ridden on the shoulders of the retail investors so pretty sure they'll throw open an ICO sometime.
It will be most exciting to see the way Hindi news channels cover this
