It depends.Are you a HODLer or a day trader? If you are a HODLer,do you mean that you expect the btc price to reach 65K USD and the eth price to reach 15K USD?This is way too optimistic.I expect the ethereum price to increase by 100% and go above 2K USD,but i`m not an optimist about bitcoin.Too many negative news coming from China and lots of FUD will push the btc price down. If you are a day trader,your ROI expectations depend on your own skills. I`m not a day trader,i`m only a HODLer,and i`m not that greedy.  |

if ethereum goes up 1500% in 2018 meaning if it goes to nearly $20,000 then I will officially lose faith in the cryptocurrency world in general because ETH is the shittiest coin that has ever existed. full of bugs, lots of issues including serious scaling issue, lots of shilling and lots of spam-advertisement with lots of false information. such a coin should not even be worth more than $20 let alone that high. as for bitcoin's 500% which means going to $78,000 from current price. I don't think it can happen because we will have a lot of issues to face with. mainly the scaling issue and the spam attacks against bitcoin which is the only reasons keeping the price back at the moment. |

If you are a HODLer,do you mean that you expect the btc price to reach 65K USD and the eth price to reach 15K USD?This is way too optimistic.I expect the ethereum price to increase by 100% and go above 2K USD,but i`m not an optimist about bitcoin.Too many negative news coming from China and lots of FUD will push the btc price down. It is good to be optimistic but of course we should also be dealing with reality. We all want Bitcoin and Ethereum for that matter to be growing in value as much as possible but issues can always pull them down. The market can easily be swayed by baseless news and opinions and this kind of thing has been going on for a long time that I sometimes get tired hearing them. I don't think it is possible for Eth to reached as high as 15K anytime soon...maybe in 5 or more years. As to Bitcoin, there is a big possibility for a little bull run within this first quarter but gains can easily be erased due to many lingering concerns which I am hoping can be solved soon. |

To earn 500% in btc and around 1500% in eth just by holding funds doesn't seems possible till the end of 2018. Through trading we can earn this much profit this year, but even in trading proper skills and experience is required. I am expecting around x2.5 in btc till end of 2018 and around x3 in eth just by holding. |

Diversifying your portfolio in promising SMALL alts (not big alts like XRP, which will probably be negative ROI) will probably give you the largest ROI.
When Bitcoin goes up 1000% during Bitcoin season, small alts go up 10000% during altcoin season.
Altcoin season will hit again.

And this is your problem. Your mindset and expectations are all wrong. You should be happy if btc gained you 8-10% for the year. I agree. If you look at the annualized returns for the past several years, 2017 was a landmark year. I think it is safe to say that past performance is no guarantee of future results. 8-10% would be in keeping with stocks and other assets. |
