Just because a coin is not in the top 20 coins doesn't mean it's shit coin....
There are plenty of coins out there that have real-use cases and technologies that are different/better than the blue-chip coins...

It can be looked at the same way as a stock sold on the NY stock exchange.  Every stock has to start somewhere and many start off with low valuations & under the radar.  Not to mention cryptocurrency is in its infancy and with so many now it can be difficult for the best to instantly rise to the top. MJ also points out an important fact and that is Bitcoin isn’t the only game in town and other successful Alts (that aren’t meant as a BTCreplacement and solve real world problems) are good for the health and future of BTC. I would recommend taking a look at the Alts section here on btalk as you can learn more there than in collectibles.

The way you worded this question is very off putting.  It leads the reader to believe that you do not truly want an answer but are looking for a confrontation.  

You really need to work on your forum etiquette.  If you email the same way you write on forums you will struggle as you get older and enter the work force.

A better way to word your OP would have been:

"I have noticed many users in this section are using a lesser know alternative coin called Viacoin.  I am wondering if anyone could explain to me the pros of this coin so I can better understand why its use seems widespread in this section"

Or just keep acting like a douche-nozzle, your call.

Jokes aside, a lot of big BTC is coming into viacoin. Think about where ltc was a year ago and there's Approx 1/4th of supply. Inflation is zero. The fundamentals are sound. And it’s fast. Real fast.
