Guys about 5-6 years ago I was payed £100 for a product via bitcoin I can’t remember what the site was I used! Can anyone help? Surely there wasn’t many bitcoin accounts back then?

I have a feeling it’s bitcoin.com but they don’t have any options to login? It was a site that I used via computer not by phone app.

Thanks

I suggest you do a serious search through your email accounts (all that you used at the time) and by serious I mean serious, i.e. you can start by regular search for the registration emails, but if it fails you should look at every single email and verify if it is not the one you are looking for.

Years ago I was able to find a backup of some data that I sent to gmail and gmail later deleted the email attachements because of the change of its regulations. I was lucky the email was in the sent folder of another account with the attachement intact. I found it doing the serious search that I described above Smiley Good luck!

A product? Bitcoin is a currency.... not a product. You might have signed up at Blockchain.info {wallet provider} ...just work

through your old emails, you normally get a confirmation email with every site where you signed up. There is a site called

Bitcoin.com, but I doubt that you bought bitcoins there.  Tongue

Thanks guy.

Problem is I have had 7 emails since! 4 are closed down emails.

All I can do is go on every single site register every email address I have had and if I don’t get an error saying email already being used means it’s not that email.

I ment I sold some supplements to someone from the states. He asked me can he pay via coin so I followed his instructions to open a coin account and so on. Don’t have the guys email anymore.

I can remember like after a week of him sending me the money it dropped down to £0 so I thought wtf been hacked and just left it! Never signed back in. But even if the coin went to £0 it would of went back up once value of coin went up?

You have no other option but to try to find something, when it comes to bitcoin you are completely responsible to what happens to your coins, there are people that have lost millions of dollar because of their own mistakes, you need to find some sort of clue, check every email, look for old pieces of paper that you may have around, you may have written the information and you do not even remember.

OP, if you really want to recover your bitcoin - you need to search through all your mailboxes very carefully (I meant all of emails that you're currently have) Maybe, somehow you've missed an email and that's the one you're looking for...

Anyhow, good luck and hopefully, you can find and retrieve your bitcoin Smiley

There is no way we can help your problem I guess. We don't know any information about you and the main information we need is where and what address did your payment transact. There is no way we can trace your BTCitcoin payment by just having your name. You need to remember what wallet you use. You still have your personal computer? If you still have it try to check history. But I'm not sure it will work. But just keep this post, maybe someone will know how to do it. Good luck mate.

I believe you didn't understand the OP's explanation. He said that he sold a product and he was paid via Bitcoin and the wallet that he used was from bitcoin.com, he didn't bought his Bitcoin from that site instead, he used it to receive the Bitcoin for payment of his product.

As for the OP, you need to back track every email you are using since then. I hope that you can retrieve it!

This is a serious problem for you and this will have a long and hard time to recover your wallet. there are few sites who hold bitcoin by that time though you need to remember that first and secondly, the hardest part is if you forget the email, username, and password. that is the worst nightmare you can have but this time and especially the private key that you must save. I think this is next to impossible if you can't remember anything on that account. sorry to say this to you but this is the reality. I'm sure that bitcoin is really huge now!

if that site is web wallet, i just know about blockchain or maybe you use exchanger site like coinbase or something?
And do you mean recover your bitcoin or your wallet account? Looks like you lose your access to your wallet account.
I can remember like after a week of him sending me the money it dropped down to £0 so I thought wtf been hacked and just left it! Never signed back in. But even if the coin went to £0 it would of went back up once value of coin went up?
Depend on the coin, but i never see coin goes down to 0.
Maybe you register on exchanger site and use address on it to receive payment.

Simple describe:
- OP has received bitcoin about £100 in 5-6 years ago.
- He doesn't remember which one wallet he using at that time
- Web wallet that was created since 5-6 years ago could be localbitcoins.com, blockchain.info, coinbase.com or others exchangers
- First important about this info's are stored on email, but you didn't remember which email you using was. This can be trying by visiting those sites and using forgot password function with your email

Man is wrong and forgot. Forgetting is one of the most common human diseases that almost everyone has experienced. However, what if you forget your email password? Forgot this one will cause a bigger problem. Especially if your email contains important documents as well as important electronic mail from your relation. You should immediately find a solution to your problem as soon as possible. You should find information on how to find forgotten email passwords.

Well it is a good idea for the starters. If you can pinpoint which was the blockchain wallet provider AND what email was used for that provider, you can then try to either contact the staff of either of the two services to recover the lost account and if you succeed with any of them - you are good to go! Good luck!

So guys. I have tried 20 different bitcoin sites with all my emails and no joy!

Blockchain I cant coz there is no option to check if blockchain has my email logged as a user. When you open a blockchain account you can open like 10 with the same email. Remeber I don’t have access to my email accounts anymore they was closed down Sad

So maybe it was bloody blockchain after all. I have emailed them but no reply

Also I am sure it was bitcoin.com I used. As the site looks familiar! But there is no option to log in! I can remeber logging in via email/password. I think! Was off a windows pc. Wasn’t an app! So it’s a site that you can log in from a computer without having to download an app.

Anymore advice guys? You all will get a nice fat drink if I can get your help to find my account lol

Use google history search on bitcoin wallets/exchanges or whatever? Like pick year 2012 and search for old crypto websites.

I opened the bitcoin.com webpage. They don't seem to have a log-in, all right, but they do provide a wallet via some app. What you can do is contact them and tell them you had an online wallet with them and ask them where it did go (when they discontinued the service). After they reply, your next steps would vary depending on what they reply but I think you should have the list of all your possible emails ready. Also, do you have like standard passwords you use? If so, you can list them down too. Then maybe you will need to try every email with every password.... As I said, it depends on what they reply.

If you remember that you used an email address in that site before, maybe you can search it in your email and look for that site. But as you said, no log in only that some kind of private key, try go remember that one. If not, you cannot access nor retrieve in anymore.

Definitely you might have used an email account to verify your purchase. It will be much easier if you could check your old emails. There were a few legal shopping sites accepting Bitcoin back then. One of the sites which I remember is Bitmit. There were a few others as well (unless you are referring to dark market sites).

I looked on there page mate they don’t have an option to contact them they state there not a website that you can contact or summit. Crap!

1. Bitcoin isn't a company, just like “gold” isn't a company. This means that there isn't any official website that speaks for Bitcoin, just like there isn't an official website representing gold. We just do our best to put lots of information online. We also have an active community of users who want to help people that ask questions on our forum.

sure nobody expected them to be a bitcoin representative. LOL how dumb it would be. But: they are offerring wallet services. It is currently an app, and it used to be online web service in the past. Sure there must be a way to contact them about the service they provide. When I have a free moment I'll have a look myself.
