By all means let me know your thoughts and interest in this plan in this thread, if all goes well we can set up escrow and get an order in ASAP.

Please read this OP (or at least the TL;DR list below) and post your opinions/orders in this thread!

If you're interested in buying shares, please format as such:
|username|#shares|
Also PM me with contact information so I can easily contact you if you do not get on the forum everyday.

TL;DR version of the below is:
- I can't pay for a huge $,$$$ miner, maybe you can't either...
- I want to save you and I both, money.
- I want to spread wealth.
- Low investment cost means low risk, pay 0.310 BTC for 2GH/s share...how the hell can you go wrong with a $30 investment?
- 10 GH/s hosted mining costs 1.55 BTC, all upfront, total, no bullshit, no extra fees ...
- 20 GH/s hosted mining costs 3.1 BTC, all upfront, total, no bullshit, no extra fees ...
- 30 GH/s hosted mining costs 4.65 BTC, all upfront, total, no bullshit, no extra fees ...
- 40 GH/s hosted mining costs 6.2 BTC, all upfront, total, no bullshit, no extra fees ...yeah.
- I will be mining for 80 GH/s on the same rig so payouts will be insured to some extent.

About me:
I've been into bitcoin mining on and off since the summer of 2011 when the big price bubble was around. Not much else to say really, I recently turned 18, graduated high school, I'm going to the University of Akron (OH, USA) to study Computer Networking. (I already hold CompTIA A+/Network+ certs.)

Introduction to the group buy:
I understand it that some people are not so financially able to do many things - I'm not so well off either. I've got enough money to buy about 25% of a Baby Jet so I figured I would organize a group buy.

My plans:
I would be interested in about 80 GH/s of a (1) 400 GH/s Baby Jet, meaning that the rest of the hashing power would be up for grabs. You provide me with more liquidity, I provide you with a solid, easy, and cheap mining option. The miner will be hosted my me personally in my fully air-conditioned/heated house.

Right now, what I'm looking at is offering shares in increments of 2 GH/s, 320GH/s or 160 shares available for purchase in any combination you want. I will limit each buyer to 30 shares or 60 GH/s, to give everybody a chance, in which the machine will hash as almost as fast as six stock ASICMiner blades for about the price of one.

Again, to clarify:
160 shares to be available, 2 GH/s each
Each share is .31 BTC each, about $31 for 2 GH/s, that's 10 GH/s about $155, 40 GH/s about $640.
When all 160 shares are sold, I will make the order...(That is 49.6 BTC)

If we assume a buyer buys 40 GH/s, the cost is 6.2 BTC.
I gain the 6.2 BTC to help me fund my total purchase cost, and each user is left with a proportional payout of my earnings equivalent to the 40 GH/s, to be paid to their wallet address biweekly. The BitcoinX calculator shows that with a starting difficulty of 100M (current: 50M), and a 80% profitability decline in 1 year (meaning at the end of the 12th month, you're only making 20% what you did in the beginning), 40 GH/s will ROI in 34 days with a 12 month profit of ~3200 USD and total revenue of ~3800 USD.

I believe the above is a realistic estimate of earnings, more or less.

Feel free to chime in with your opinion and put down your order if you'd like to participate.

Thanks,
Sam Smiley

I would also like to note that I might be new around here in bitcointalk but I'm certainly not new to message boards, technology, computer hardware, overclocking, or bitcoin Smiley

I've PM'ed John K to ask him for his escrow services. I don't even care if the money touches my hands... I want to get one of these ordered, set up, mining, and paying everybody out as soon as possible, plus I have a pretty big reputation to uphold on teh interwebz and it would not be very hard for someone to follow me around and heckle me to death or post all kinds of stories to my friends about my major fraud  Roll Eyes...

Killing this group buy, not worth the time in my honest opinion to allow others to buy in at 0% markup and host and deal with that when I can just enter another group buy and help them secure a machine faster.  Sad
