A friend told me about bitcoins the other day and i've just spent the last 2 hours trying to set it up.  I signed up on God knows how many websites, and now I'm trying to use KIVs GUI miner with Slush's pool, I have a working account on Slush's website but the GUI can't log me in, I have put in my username and password, but keeps erring log in and trying every 120 seconds.  Help?
According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Also, slush is currently under attack.  See http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=1976.3280

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

An alternative to buying your first BitCoins is to earn them via this site. iWantFreeBitCoins.com Good chance to get some BitCoins and see what its all about before you go through all the trouble of getting a market account setup.

Just an idea.
