Dear Atheist, what is your take on ethics/morality

The Atheist movement appears to be growing strong globally. Many of my online friends identifies as atheism these days. Anti-God posts get tons of likes on Facebook. It seems to be an Internet thing though, as we all act normal when we see each other.

 My fear: The new generation of Atheists In my opinion, don't seem to care about Morality.
 In those days, Atheists used to be brave, kind, anti-tyranny, anti-violence, true humanists. Many left Religions due to atrocities committed in the name of Religion . . . Some joined Atheism as  defiance to tyrannical religious governments/leaders. Back then I was an Atheist but never had problem with Jesus... I used to ask religious people to learn to be good Christians from Jesus. I never had problems with Christianity at all just the attitudes of Christians.
Many Atheists today are opposite of what we stood for as Atheists. They don't really care  about human rights or the feelings of others, they tend to side with war, tyranny, blood.
To be honest, these characters are one of the reasons I left Atheism. The new culture is scary, insensitive and full of Arrogant people. I just did not want to associate with it. The Religious ones are fewer but becoming nicer. Am not talking about Political Christians...I am talking about true God fearing, Bible practicing Christians..

I want a society that strongly condemns any form of human right violations.  I want a society that strongly condemns immoral & unethical behavior... Not just those that condemn when they are directly affected

First off, thanks for a good question, one that requires some real thought to answer.

Atheist here. I used to be brave, kind, anti-tyranny, anti-violence, true humanist. Atheists are considered to be humanists. The Humanist movement entertains many definitions to which their members choose to describe their set of values. I love myself and my fellow people instead of a God.

The ability to feel sympathy for others, the desire to care for others, build relationships and be a part of a family, the feelings we have when we see starving children or great violence - these are all an evolutionary hard wired part of who we are and it's very difficult for sane people, to see the world otherwise.

Some religious have this conscience, atheists have this conscience. The only people who don't are sociopaths. So perhaps you can understand why it's so hard for many atheists to even comprehend what is being asked when religious people think that they have the monopoly on morality and accuse atheists of being in rebellion to God because they have seared their conscience.

Don't confuse atheism with anti-religion. Atheism is just a rejection of any ideas there is a God or whatever else. Anti-religion rejects the religion.

What counts as immoral and unethical though? I don't really care much about rude atheists, every grouping have their fundamentalists. These "militant" atheists are still less likely to want your head off for saying something or behaving in a way they don't like. Unfortunately the same can't be said for religious fundamentalists.

Sure they are noisy but they are attracting attention to whatever they are pointing at. We can always do with less abuse of authority.

Maybe but a large number of what you are calling psychopaths are also atheists or nonbelievers. Lenin was, Hitler was , Stalin was, and all these killed a lot of innocent people with Hitler killing not little but 6 million Jews. All was driven by the theory of evolution of Darwin which was an atheist. Atheism is the source of all evil together with the theory of evolution, they create a perfect habitat for the worst things to happen. If you don't like religion and think that is all a lie, good but at least accept that our universe was not created randomly but from a Bigger Being called God. That is the first step to stop evil.

I respect your ideas which you have mentioned but You must have gotten the idea of atheism wrong. Atheism is not an anti- religion stuff and of course Non- believers have ethics. The difference between atheist people and religious people is that atheists do good deeds with their brain not for the command of so called god. That's the point.

Isn't evolution based on randomness ? How come that a fish can be turned into a cat ? These tales can only happen in the theory of evolution. There is no scientific explanation to back up the evolution theory except a bunch of corrupted scientists who want materialism to prevail.

Im an atheist simply because i believe in myself more then i believe in anything else egoist...kidding
But morality and ethical behaviour is a must for everyone, it's a basic principle how all people should work.
I have no problem with any of the religions, nor do I talk to them mean or anything, I have some people I talk to about religion and they do bring alot of good information back to me and I also counter them in some ways, we are kinda brainstorming.

Really horrible that the church have a No Child's Behind Left policy and that they protect those clergy by relocating them while under investigation. Very likely that the Catholic church is not alone in this. There are also reports from madrassas, it just happen to be more hip to attack Christians though it's easy to see what happens when you give adults authority over children. I mean, sometimes even parents can't be trusted to not abuse their children. Seems things are changing now though, thanks to all the noise from the "fundamentalist' atheists.
