Dear user,

Our web shop system is crrently facing unexpected technical issues with order payments.

Because of this we have decided to cancel the Antminer A3 batch releases that were scheduled for 4PM, 9PM and 10PM today (29 January, GMT+8).

If you manged to succesfully place an order during the 2PM batch release today, you need not worry because your order will be shipped as scheduled.

For those who were unable to order during the 2PM batch release or those who planned to order during the other releases today, please stay tuned for the same batch's release at another time this week. We will announce this by email and on our social media accounts as soon as we have resolved our web shop issues and have finalized a time for it.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this sudden cancellation may have caused.

We will continue to investigate this issue to prevent it from occuring again.

Regards,

The Bitmain team

So, when will you reopen the site?

Can the miner be modify to mine blake2s? The difference of Blake2b and blake2s is the but only. One is 64bit and the other is 32bit. How flexible is the A3 firmware. Can the frequency and fan speed is manually adjusted?

Isn't it interesting? see below

We'd like to offer a $800 @BITMAINtech discount coupon to every @ObeliskTechHQ coupon holder. We look forward to collaborating with the @ObeliskTechHQ team to finalize the details. Stay tuned for more information on this.

I am sure Bitmain truly doesn't care about launching a 51% attack on Sia, they just want to maintain dominance in the miner industry. If Bitmain and Obelisk teams can work together then this would be huge for the Sia network and community as a whole.

I already checked out the a3 with PSU at 0.87BCH rate and about to make the payment before learning that Blake 2b algorithm is only being used by Siacoin only. I am not going through with the payment anymore,  I knew the miner would be useless after a few months but my thoughts was to use it on new coins with Blake 2b algorithm. I also noticed that the miners has been up for grab for more than 2hours now which was impossible with the first batch release; meaning people are no longer interested in buying them anymore.  I'm out

This is good for community to make the miner more decntralized.
However last batch is 980 USd , so I don't think they come to an agreement Wink

Hoping that there will be a new coin with the same POW

Usually when the asic miner come to the market, it shows the confidence of the market ( at least the asic miner producer ) with the coin. So the it will enrich the community.

I believe the ROI will take longer, but .. the coin will stay and last .

Anything is possible but I would say unlikely.  A lot of these asic coins you see pop up are little more than clones of another coin.  Considering SIA has an actual token-like use I think it would be more difficult to clone.  Maybe someday though a mutl-algo coin would be created that implements blake2b
