The concept has been discussed before, but is the implementation of colored coins possible?  If so, how, and is it planned to be added to bitcoin soon?

I believe the project has progressed quite a bit but probably best to check with "killerstorm" about the details (although I don't think that support for it will be appearing in an official version of the Satoshi client any time soon).

With CIYAM anyone can create 100% generated C++ web applications in literally minutes.

Colored coins have already been implemented. ArmoryX is a color-aware Armory fork but it's abandoned because of Armory's resource consumption.

We currently have http://bitcoinx.github.io/webcoinx/ currently working on testnet, and there's a plan for a next gen client - https://github.com/bitcoinx/colored-coin-tools/wiki/The-next-gen-colored-coin-client.

More information is at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=106373.0.

Colored coins are a layer on top of Bitcoin so it does not need to be "added to Bitcoin".

Just what are colored coins? Embarrassed
The thing that is described here.

How can you exactly "color" a bitcoin?
Thank you.

This is explained in my overview paper and in the specification.

Basically, coloring is based on the ordering of inputs and outputs.
