I am looking to invest $300 every month for next 18 months so a total of $5400 to get a good project.

My current portfolio

XVG: 5000 @ $0.14 (Currently down to 0.08)
BCN: 20000 @ 0.04 (currently at 0.06)
DeepOnon 67 @ 13.59 (Currently at 9.69)

I bought XRP at 1.24 and sold at 2.85..

Future plans include to take position in

you better divide your portfolio into 2 parts.
one reliable top coin. eg: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple ...
the other ones are the coins you wrote.

For small investors I recommend cheap coins with quality teams and projects behind. For example, bitclave or stom.

I think in your portfolio there are no coins that will bring a big profit. Unless Ripple could make a good profit in 2018, if the developers will advertise it. It is better to pay attention to the ether, neo, lisk, monero, dash.

I think you should add raiblocks in your portfolio.
Because it has the fastest transaction and it can offer more in coming days.
Raiblocks will grow heavily in 2018 in my opinion.

Well in this case i guess don't decide now. You don't know what will happen tomorrow.. decide every time when you are ready invest. Research and learn about the project before picking. I did a hasty investment in 700 XRP at $3 and now its $1.10. Before that I had 300 XRP bought at $0.2, so i was thinking XRP will always be flying high

awful plan tbh, if i had to make a new portfolio right now it would look like this:

30% eth
30% ven
10% wpr(eth until ico)
10% xrb
10% icx
10% nebl/eng/waves/strat(one of those)

also not a fan of buying each month, buy when it dips, so right now. unless you dont have 5400$ atm but it will still hurt you overall.

Why not try with some of the ICO. It would be better to get more profit than buying once after getting listed to the exchanges. Possibly the beginning seems to be days of dip, and soon can experience good price pumping. Taking it into consideration investing when the price is low is always a good thing for the future benefitting.

Even what people say here I dont agree that Deep Onion is simply a hype coin. It does have some good privacy features built upon the well used and known TOR network and they constantly roll out new things. One that is a big difference from allot of coins is that the lead team understands how to market. To each his own though

I am looking at UNIFY and thinking why not speculate and invest like 500 GBP and sleep till 2020. Who knows a coin with low circulation and market cap with a plan may take me there
