Hi all,

As many of you already know, I am helping to coordinate the European Bitcoin Convention in Amsterdam on September 26-28, 2013. This event is bringing together entrepreneurs, businessmen, and interested people for a three day event hosted at the beautiful Rozen Theatre.

One of our sponsors, HardBtc.org, is a contributing sponsor, and has paid for his sponsorship using a 25BTC Cascascius coin. This is one of the first purchases to have been done using hard bitcoins for large purchases, and is one of the many innovative new approaches our conference is embrancing. The thing is, many places still do not accept bitcoin as currency, and one of them is the Rozen Theatre.

While we would love to keep this coin (it’s really shiny and pretty), we have many expenses which are better paid for with FIAT currency. So, we’re offering this 2011 Cascascius coin for auction. Starting bids at 5BTC, and lasting one week.

Visible code: 1Gdh3mbP
Balance: https://blockchain.info/address/1Gdh3mbPdcYGRJkGgK1Ugs3As2CetkQABF

Payment accepted in BTC only (unless you have a high trust/reputation). Shipping extra. Will ship worldwide with insurance. Good Luck

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

This is loaded with 25 btc, and you started bidding below that?  Or is it not loaded?

Yeah, it feels like I'm missing something. If this is loaded with 25 BTC (which it looks like it is, as you linked to the balance), you're certainly better off just redeeming the BTC rather than selling it below that.

Is there some sort of escrow?

Is there any damage to the holographic seal?

How much is shipping+insurance to the US?

Thanks.

It's loaded.
I was asked to start selling it for that little to attract offers.
We don't want to redeem it because we don't want to destroy it (it's pretty! Plus getting through all that plastic will be a pain Embarrassed)
The coin is currently in Amsterdam. I'll get back to you on shipping+insurance to US.
We can do escrow if you'd like (Aww, you don't trust me?). We'd just have to agree on the person doing the escrow.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Let's make this a bit more interesting.

Winner gets two free tickets to the convention (worth 300 euro).

Just to make sure, amonymous, you're the seller in this auction now?
Because, you know, Rassah started it.
You're also tossing in 2 tickets to the conference?

Hey there qwk,

Rassah is the seller at this auction. He's the treasurer and accountant for all funds.

However, I am organizing the conference and am tossing in two tickets to sweeten the pot Smiley

Looks like you've lost the lead Wink
