First I would like you to tell me your answers to my questions. As I ask questions I will give possible answer that is the possible scenario.

1. Where did it come from? Or rather who did send you this Ethereum?

If its comes from an job that you got here in bitcointalk.org  maybe it got into traffic or rather your payment is waiting fro a free space to travel.

Or If the ethereum comes from a friend or some person you know and you can't contact him anymore you gpt scamed.

There is no problems and little  problem with gas here if:

gas prices is small it can't be sent to the person, it will just not be sent it automatically.

Its also the gas if gas succed in transfer but its in the minimum like I said low chances of faster transaction. If its in the more gas paid situation, well you can receives it in the possible time of a second or minutes and an hour or more that it cant be long (like 24hours)

Transactions can take so long at the time of any major ICO, or a large number of them.  And if the transaction did not pass, then in tx id it would be written - Error.  Likewise, if there was not enough gas, the transaction would not have passed.

If the transaction was sent through Metamask then there's an opportunity to change the gwei according to the current network load, or even reject the transaction and start it from scratch. In some cases transaction with very low gwei can be in pending state up to 7 days.

Resend the transaction with a higher gas price.

Nobody can tell you what you did wrong without a tx id by the way.

the instructions you think are very correct, to get to your etherium faster, you have to set the gas higher, the higher the gas the faster and more expensive your transaction costs

really, the price of gas usually greatly affects the length of the transaction and the higher the gas value the faster the transaction will be confirmed. maybe you should really be more patient

You're friend clearly don't know how to properly set gwei for a transaction. If your friend sets very low gwei like below 4.0 expect it to receive the ether after days during clogged days of ethereum network. When average pending transaction is below 4,000 then 10 gwei should suffice. Always check etherscan for average pending transaction to asses how much gwei should need for better confirmation chances.

I usually send Ethereum, and it comes very quickly if I set the right gas. Sometimes there are problems when to sent from the exchange, but I always received Ethereum within two days.

I had a situation like this. I was helped by the cancellation of transactions and the implementation of it again. Sometimes processing simply does not work out the application in the measure of load.

Transaction is just congested my friend, If you double check again your transaction and bot wallet are correct and transaction is just pending! It's like on the line on the counter many transaction now a days so wait a little longer, I am waiting also for my ETH from my faucet. It will come.

Tell him to cancel that transaction and resend again with higher gwei.
To cancel a transaction send 0ETH to self address with medium to high gas fee and wait for it to get confirmed.

Thanks for that information mate. I didn’t know that a sent transaction can also be cancelled and there is such a process. I thought that ethereum or bitcoin once sent cannot be cancelled and remain stuck in between until they are received by a person at a particular address. Although I knew that sending with high gas confirms the transaction quickly. But if that’s the case, it can be said that blockchain transactions are reversible and this might also be risky. But again it helps many people to process their stuck transaction.

I sometimes wonder how some of us in the crypto business portray some level of impatience whenever we encounter some common payment issues. We get so excited and call great platforms like Ethereum platform bad names. It's very unfortunate.  It's true that right now we are experiencing transfer problems with Myetherwallet but that does not guaranty anyone in this crypto business to tag to our amazing smart contract platform a joke. Let us learn to be patient in life because there is no problem without a solution. I believe the transfer problem will be rectify very soon by the developers. I personally believe Ethereum is our pride and we should not destroy it. Thanks

I think the slow transaction and the fees are one of the two biggest problems in cryptos in general that I'd like to see solved.

Waiting more than 2 days is just too annoying.

I haven’t heard about ethereum getting stuck for 2 days. Every transaction of ethereum that I have done has completed within 5 mins. I don’t know where you received the ethereum. If its on a trustable wallet such as blockchain,etc than it might be problem with transaction, but its on some exchange site or other website then it is highly possible that the site is a scam and the transaction is stuck by them. Also check that the address was all correct letter to letter and number to number. I have never heard of any problem with ethereum transaction. Also try contacting support of the wallet.

Ethereum is not a joke, it can be due to low gas fee, and i think that should be the problem,  you can try to resend it with an appropriate gas fee (reset the gas limit).
Always remember to keep your private keys safe, don't be scammed!

usually I use GAS 25 gwei for eth transfer,
and the result also transfer speed is okay,
no problem at all

Ethereum is a good high-tech cryptocurrency, but the blockchain congestion problem is terribly annoying and the devs need to do something about it.

The higher fee and gas price usually works, but in occasions like an exchange withdraw or some ICOs, in which you don't have any control over those factors, you just have to sit back and wait (maybe pray) until your transaction goes through! 

Yes, that issue must be fixed as one doesn’t have control over setting the gas and paying higher fees while withdrawing from an exchange, etc. But if I see at my transaction, all were done at lower gas and were confirmed within 5 minutes. I have never experienced congestion in ethereum network as of so far, whereas bitcoin on the other hand often has that problem. My transactions in bitcoin are not confirmed for 3-4 days for many time. This scalability issue of crypto currencies must be solved as the demand is increasing and so are the transactions.

.... and they keep advertising ethereum as cheap transactions, fast, low fee, and without scaling problems but in reality everyone who has ever said it either had some stake in it and wanted the price to go up or they never made a transaction in their lives because they keep their ETH on exchanges for fast dumping purposes.
ethereum started as a good idea and continued to be a pretty illusion.

According to me, ethereum has cheap transactions and is quite fast. In all my transactions, the fees was charged below 0.5 dollars and was confirmed within the next 5 minutes unlike bitcoin where I paid 10$ still wasn’t confirmed for 3 days. As far as I have experienced, ethereum though is less scalable, still my transactions have never been stuck and I have never observed congestion in its network.

It processes its transactions pretty fast. And I don’t know what you are taking about being illusion cause ethereum was built to upgrade blockchain technology and it has done so by bringing into operation smart contracts. Ethereum still seems pretty healthy project to me.

If it doesn't showing a pending transaction that transaction should be failed say to the one who sent ETH to check his wallet it should be in his wallet. and tell him to next time when sending use little bit higher gas prices than ongoing using price for a quick transaction as your wish(can find using https://ethgasstation.info) and tell him to send you the tx id you can check transaction status using etherscan.io
