I haven't seen this website before so I checked to see what it looks like, but did you generate an address using there online version or did you download it and generated it offline? In case you did generate it online, are you sure that you don't have any malware on your computer?

Wow man really sorry about your loss. I suggest using a hardware wallet to store your coins. Personally I use the Ledger Nano S . I'd definitely recommend it . Get it from their website, do not buy from a 3rd party .

Yeah.. I saw a post[1] about paperaddress.org on Reddit a few hours ago..

Your main mistake wasn't to use the address generator online. Your main mistake was that you chose a scammy website to generate your address. I'm pretty sure the safe one was https://www.bitaddress.org/

Sorry for your loss. Make this an expensive lesson for you to do your research first before making big moves like this.

You're reporting the crime.. to the thieves themselves. You're going to achieve nothing with that.

Sorry to hear about your 1.9 BTC loss. I haven’t heard about this wallet generator. I will suggest the same as the above post, that is to use a hardware wallet next time.

I generated it online like a dumb fuck! wasn't thinking!
The website doesn't seem to have their source code online, which makes it really suspicious. The only way to generate an address offline using their service would be downloading the zip from their website, this could also be easy altered to only generate addresses that they already have access to. Also I can't find anything on google about this website, only your scam accusation. This makes me think that it's really them who stole your Bitcoin, I'm sorry for your loss.

- Edit: Next time, please verify if you're using a legitimate generator. Open-source is a good sign of legitimacy, but it's still not 100% safe unless you can read code. If you would have searched for bitaddress.org you would actually find multiple threads on hear about it. Always research before storing large sums of money

Sorry for your loss. You should have searched about them before using their service and maybe you could save your money.

If anyone needs any:

- javascript

hit me a dm

I need to work my ass off to re-cooperate

Open a thread in Services section listing the services you can offer and hopefully you will get some work to do.
Good luck.

Every crime gets reported to the police, that's the legal way...
Now, depending where you live this will be forwarded to the branch that is investigating online thefts , phishing scams and others like that.

On your own you're not going to be able to do anything, sending mails is just a waste of time without a court order.
They are not going to release personal details (which I'm 100% sure are fake anyway) to some random guy.

Honestly , the chances of getting you coins back are slim to none.

Yeah that is another example why one get an address it should REGISTER providing ID. Then the police would chase the owner who stole them for you.
Now you can chase your tail with this anonymity sh*t.

Sorry about your loss, man. As others have said, people must research all services thoroughly before using them. Unfortunately cryptocurrencies are like the Wild West, and scammers think they can get away with anything. Hopefully you will reach out to the right people to investigate this.

We are sorry for your loss. Why didn't you start with buying a hardware wallet? In my opinion, even 0.5 BTC is worth buying one! Next time use software which is open-source so you can check if there aren't any backdoors. Trezor is one of the most popular hardware wallets and its software is available for everyone to review. Did you try to contact the owner of this website? Are you sure that your paper wallet wasn't exposed to anyone else?

I'm so sorry the money has been lost. Based on this brief reddit thread, it looks like that site transmits the private key to their server when one is generated:
