Powered by memes & the reddit community I believe that this coin has great potential. Unfortunately the airdrop page is currently down due to a hug of death..

The DEV posted that only those subscribed in the subreddit PRIOR to the launch will be eligible to the airdrop of ONE Garlicoin each. We bitcointalk users are out of luck, plus that sounds like a fair distribution but too lttle per person. Supposedly it's so there'll be a coin for each subscriber of the sub.

Mining with a GTX 1060 6GB.

Mining for about 7 hours on default settings, got 1.17 GRLC from ButterPool in my wallet so far. However last payment was 2 hours ago, not sure why, so I switched to garlicsoup just now.

Average hashrate is 243 KH/s, I think I get 253-257 KH/s with --lookup-gap=2 but it seems to get invalid blocks far more often.

72-74C on card, just left everything on default as I'm not taking this too seriously.

Ambient temps are 24C.

That seems a very low reward.

Try https://garlicpool.org I get about 1.4 Garlic an hour with 2 x 1080ti and my hashrate is about 800 total so I would expect you to get a 1/4 of the reward I do per hour - so about 0.35 giving after 7 hours 2.45.

Figures are rough and you should check the luck of the pool you are on and also consider if the reward is PPLNS you will receive lower rewards for the first few hours on the pool

When butterpool was working I got about 0.31 per hour, now on garlicsoup after 1 hour, 0.36.

I only found this coin today when a thread from sub-reddit /r/garlicoin showed up on my feed.

There are many things wrong with this coin, for one it's another memecoin, seems to be developed on discord, huge pet peeve of mine, as development is not properly documented on discord versus a forum.

Premined (but supposedly all will be air dropped, good luck trusting that), uses scrypt:10 (more ASIC resistant).

Lot's of basic information is missing on main site and reddit, only this thread provides it.

Seems to have hype, probably a pump and dump situation.

Small chance to be some type of a intermediate like dogecoin to avoid fees on exchanges perhaps?

Well, the premine was microscopic compared to most other pump-and-dump type coins I've seen.

I get the issues with discord development, I generally avoid voice chat and third party chat applications anyway.

How is ASIC resistance a bad thing?

On the flip side, I have seen a bunch of people getting into crypto for the first time, and it's a very basic introductory coin.
It reminds me of years ago, when new coins would come out and there was the rush of excitement, rather than how it feels now with all the mining whales being first on site, a lot of coins not even being minable, or massive ICOs.
