Hardware wallets are good and secure to store altcoins for long term. You can take a look at ledger and Trezor whether they support your altcoins.

What are the secure Hot wallets to store altcoins for long term?
Hot wallets are not secure to store cryotocurrency because it is only made for the day to day usage like buying but mostly people uses hot wallets are traders.
Coinbase wallet is also a hot wallet but you can't store all the altcoins in it the supported coins are BTC,BCH,LTC and ETH and your coins are not secured here so it is not advisable to store big amount or storing for long term.
Software wallets or hardware wallets are meant to be storing of cryotocurrency so you can install one of them to store your altcoins.

I think coinbase would be a good option for you. Since coinbase is considered as one of the most trusted wallet in this kind of business.

Dude coinbase can only support four coins as of now.  BTC,  ETH,  BCH and LTC. Use wallet Myether. Almost all coins are accepted here. Get into https://www.myetherwallet.com/ . You have all things to go forward now.  Make sure you activate secure options.

If you are just into wallet, secure and most flexible i would tell you go with myetherwallet,
this MEW is really best of having any kind of erc20 coin. you just need to be sure that your encrypted wallet is secured and safe. for you not to be worry of hack wallets.

I suggest you to buy mini-flash-drive windows computer and install all possible wallets and keep your coins there.
Its better and no need to wait for Ledger Nano S for months.

Hardware wallets KeepKey and Ledger (Nano, Blue) support Ethereum and other altcoins. There are a lot of software wallets that support Ethereum/other coins. Jaxx, Exodus, etc. Just be sure to search and make sure they support the specific coins you're interested in.

Be it hardwallet or web wallet, it is still not secure if you are also careless on it because security always starts in ourselves. For me, i am using web wallet like myetherwallet and everything is pretty fine since the day i am using it.

I second to use hardware wallet to secure your coins. Your private keys are secured and never leave your hardware wallet when you interact with web app. It is a good choice.

What are the secure Hot wallets to store altcoins for long term?

Most of the bounty campaign here in btctalk recommend to use myetherwallet because it supports many types of coins. If you have an extra budget you can go for a hardware wallet for more security.

I think coinbase would be a good option for you. Since coinbase is considered as one of the most trusted wallet in this kind of business.

Coinbase only support bitcoin, litecoin and ethereum coin and doesnt support an erc20 token so its not good for storing altcoins.

At Coinbase, you can only receive four types of coins. Also, I can not recommend that you save your coins on an exchange.
If Coinbase gets hacked, there is a risk that all your coins could be stolen. You also do not have the private key at Coinbase, which means a security risk for you.
The safest way to secure your coins is either in a hardware wallet or desktop wallet. It is important that you alone own the private key.
I advise you to MyEtherWallet (MEW). There you can secure many different altcoins (based on ERC20) and have the private key.

Most of the people really don't know what they are talking about that's why the DT members are painting them with red in the name of shit posters.
First of all MEW don't support all the altcoins it support ethereum and tokens based on ERC20 and OP is asking about hot wallet but MEW is paper wallet.
