It'd be very interesting kind of token, more like the peer-review type of page-rank reputation system.

maybe at some point level/merit on btt is worth so much money that people are willing to trade off cost for trust...

just some thoughts...

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

You mean  a system to encourage buying and selling of merits in simple words ?

I think he's just on about making the merit points as some sort of digital token that users can reward each other (and like crypto tokens they will have some sort of value). If so, this has already been suggested today here:
