The Bitcoin price in 2014 was at around 600$, now it's about 20x that price. 50c in BTC invested in 2014 would be worth 10$ now, not 8 million.

I guess he already was a millionaire but he made a good decision in selling his album for bitcoin, and actually keeping the coins. We had a lot of merchants that were accepting bitcoin as a form of payment, like valve, overstock, or even Microsoft for example, but I'm pretty sure they didn't kept the coins. If they kept just a small portion of it, their profit would be huge by now. It's also quite a shame seeing valve removing bitcoin as a payment method from their site, complaining about the high fees and volatility. Not that it's not true, but have they kept the coins, they would have nothing to complain in terms of profit at least.

Read the whole thing. The rapper "50 cent" accepted  BTC as payment for recording his album. He didn't didn't get paid .50 cents to record his album. He probably got paid $250,000 worth of BTC in 2014s exchange rate, and now it's worth a bundle. That's the big story. And now he's musing about his sucesses and buying himself some Deeponion.

Wow, lucky! He would be even luckier if he invested in DeepOnion now. I believe it's the right time for an investment, due to the fact that many features are about to be introduced in the first quarter of 2018, like the android wallet which will be followed by the iOS wallet later. Also my friend paid me 300$ in Deep Onion in December 2017.

I had to install the wallet because I didn't know nothing about this coin.
In the meanwhile it tripled, from 3$ to 9$ ish, with a spike of 18$.

Those are the kind of "accidents" I want happening to me to. Well, I wonder if he still wants DeepOnion since it is no longer worth 50 cents, if not I guess I would take them off his hands. I think I have heard that the Android Wallet release is coming really soon and that they just released a new Desktop wallet that has the latest Tor upgrade (0.3.3 - please correct me if I am wrong).

Man, I still can't get over it: Accidentally making $8M because he forgot about it... Well there you go, HODL seems to be the way and I will try my luck with DeepOnion.

In 2014, 50 Cent accepted payment in Bitcoin for his album Animal Ambition. He just discovered his accumulated Bitcoin stash which was worthing $400,000 back then is now worth $8 million. He declared on Instagram and Twitter : “Not bad for a kid from South Side, I’m so proud of me.” and later commented on his post: “Ima keep it real, I forgot I did that shit lol.” It's rather hillarious and reminds me somehow the (very different) story of Julian Assange which expressed gratitude to the US and UK for forcing him to accept bitcoin as a payment, making him a millionaire.

I find it even more pleasant to see that the story published on The Verge is mentioning that "50 Cent would like the coin DeepOnion because it used to be valued at fifty cents. " and surprised to see this story got rewritten in dozen of different languages accross the globe, every single one of them mentioning DeepOnion
