But I think this would hoard the 40 merit point into one single person and its not the point of the Merit system, its should be given to anyone deserving it including those post you not agree with, as soon as you see one, so far I've never seen one that I can categorically characterize as such.

I myself still haven't spent my sMerit yet but plan to spend it as soon as possible to get the system move just like an engine and economy in the real world, when there is part stop moving the whole system start to collapse and break.

He is talking about an economy and how often will Merit circulate.   The merit system is more like a commodity because its being used up along the way, velocity will diminish unlike BTC where the same 'coin' is never used up.    Its not really comparable then.  

This is all voluntary, if people dont really get the gist of what you post just keep on going.  No biggy really.   I'll merit whenever I feel like it or not, so yea completely biased to whatever post I appreciate or agree with but I'll take a look at fxstrike's other posts.

Its a very loose system, no economy or I hope not.

I guess a key distinction I'm wondering is if you really aren't finding any "constructive and relevant posts" as stated in your original challenge request or is it more the necessity of finding quality posts that are ALSO of personal interest to you? Your response to my post made me think it was more the latter than the former, but I could be mistaken. It's also your challenge after all so it's completely up to your discretion.

I only ask because at least one other member has a similar challenge, but requires that the posts be about his/her particular areas of interest. Not sure if that's what you ultimately wanted in your own.

I don't understand gambling so it is unlikely that I will merits posts there. As for the post above yea it's cool but if you had used search then you would see multiple other similar threads.. quality is also avoiding duplication

I'm back to rant on about the fairness of the merit system. Should rename the thread to TMAN's literacy awards 
I was just reading on the thread about alt accounts and the more I read, the more humiliated I felt about such merit give away threads.
There are old accounts just sending 10 merits to numerous alts, achieving member status in a snap for their signature bots, while there are real non-alt intelligent people in such threads going out of their way to prove that they deserve member status. Wish I had unlimited merit so I would award it to real people who actually contribute and write decent posts. I don't think the posts should be award-winning, I think they should have only two requirements: 1) be on the subject 2) make some sense in expressing the thoughts of the author. This forum is about bitcoins, remember? Not an English literature class. You don't have to be a major in literature to receive merit, seriously. The more of these threads I read, the more I realize how disgusting this is. These threads all look like older members bullying around the newcomers, because 90 % of the comments are something like "Sorry, I don't like you, you get nothing". Nothing personal TMAN, I just like your thread most, so I decided to express my feelings here. Everything I say goes towards 99% of the merit give away threads I have seen. I am still thinking about how it should be done and maybe in the end I will make a constructive proposal on the merit system change.
