I like Speedfan from almico.com/speedfan.php 
 Monitors CPU, case, HDD temps and all fan speeds, and can control PWM fan speeds
  Nothing about GPU temps though, but maybe they show as CPU's ?

I went to 2 computer stores neither one had pci extender cables

You have to order them, cablesaurus has them or even newegg might still carry them.
