The lack of financial education in general is a worrying problem. We teach students about literature, maths, science, ... and we tell them that those are the things they need to know in life. Yet usually, the largest single expense they will have on their lives is a house, and that normally comes with a mortgage. Yet, only a few schools will tell them what should they be expecting, the risks and the consequences of such a contract.

Bitcoin and alts is another case in which people are carefully kept in ignorance by the governments and lobbies.

What can we do to make more people interested in economy and finance and to better educate the youth so that they don´t get ripped-off?

Most of all elementary and high school curriculum's are focus on the student development to become a good employee of a company. We were though to follow the strict rules, never enter a risky business, and be contented on what are presented on the table. And these were past to generation to generation.

But things right now has started to shift due to internet revolution. I think if we compare the percentage of people who were financially literate, this generation has posted the highest awareness on the importance of financial education. I would not be surprise if the number of financially liberated will increase in the future.

I agree with this. Every people should be fianancial literate because we do it on our everyday life and because of this , we can survive and improve our living. Every children should be taught on how to budget starting on their awareness of the value of money. You dont have to be good in mathematics to have a financial literacy. It is just focusing on what is the right thing to do when it comes to money decision making.

I can say for Russia. Our education is getting worse. There is not a single university in the TOP-100 world. It's insulting to realize but I have a feeling that this is a bad leadership of the country.

Learning is very important in all aspect in our life. Learning everything is the main goal to success. Especially in financial education.all of us facing this problem everyday, But we have a direct solution of this problem by educating ourselves. To let us know how to handle basic problem.
I find most students do not learn how to manage finances in schools, even though it is essential for every student to enter the real world. The lack of financial understanding makes many young people can not live a good life because they can not manage their finances. I believe that financial management skills should be taught in schools so that students really know about it.
Yes that is true but also in other country too a lot of students who couldnt continue and finish studies because it lacks of financial. We rather say, it is easy to study but teaching the students to go on for the right path is challenging. Students need to learn how cruel but BEAUTIFUL life is, if they knew how to manage just like in bitcoin managing is the best strategy to gain.

What we need to do is to teach the growing generation to realize that thrift and economy are necessary nowadays. Financial literacy is more important to the younger generation because of the changing of economic climate wherein individuals now shoulder more greater financial responsibility. Much better if we can discuss the new generation about crypto currency because this can help them a lot to build their future.

I can say when i was studying there is no much lecture about financial education. I think this days and growing technologies this must be a mandatory for each of everyone to study about financial education. There are many who's salary is big and yet they don't have savings because they tend to spend most of their money buying things and paying expenses. If we just learn about financial education i think it could lessen the people who are having a problem on how to managed their budget. I think financial education is another key to success.

I think we need to learn more about blockchain and programming. Financial knowledge is only an aid.The key to the problem is to develop a learning plan based on your own goals.

Today in this modern day, people lack the education in handling money. They would invest so much to the point they didn't left much, then the the investment didn't go as an, so they were left broke. We have lots of buisiness roaming right now, but only few stood still, so i think that financial education needs to be focused.

The started of lack of financial education because their are people who suffer poverty so many children are out of school. So the government must give work to other people to have and earn money to sustain to their children educations.

What can we do to make more people interested in economy and finance and to better educate the youth so that they don´t get ripped-off?

Well, the best thing today is the internet. Don’t expect the solution to come from the Government, as those subjects are not on the agenda.

I think the best if you have kids is to motivate their curiosity and critical thinking.

Yes your true, we can educate them thru the internet, because now a days people or teen agers are using internet and social media, so its the way to educte them of the economy and finance so that they know how to handle their money. Because even in school they dont teach kids about economy and finance and its one of the important in life.

We could say that lack of financial education leads to poverty or we shall say poor financial management or being broke but it is all in the mind set on how to control your self of how to prevent from being impulsive or how to delay self-gratitude to save more money. Being frugal and patience is the key to a better financially educated.

Good point and argument you have there. Yes I find it surprising that we don't have a system that helps us the mass people in becoming aware of the risks in paying in deferred payments and taking loans. Most of these stuffs we just come to know during experience and through with friends. I think it would be wise if it could be included in the curriculars of schools and more importantly make the facts or information about taking the deal presented in a simple and informative way.

Unfortunately, a lot of news and information that is published on the Internet is fake. That is why reading the books for me still remains the best way to learn everything about economy. You can buy them or visit a public library.
