Economics subject are are already enough to understand how this market works alsame with what we can do with it. There's no need to add additional courses since those willing to earn and learn will find a way.

Yet usually, the largest single expense they will have on their lives is a house, and that normally comes with a mortgage. Yet, only a few schools will tell them what should they be expecting, the risks and the consequences of such a contract.

Bitcoin and alts is another case in which people are carefully kept in ignorance by the governments and lobbies.

What can we do to make more people interested in economy and finance and to better educate the youth so that they don´t get ripped-off?

Education starts from family. We cannot wait for the government to include that in the subjects in school. It is the duty of the parents to inculcate in the heart and mind of a child on how to become a goos person which includes the proper budgeting and handling of money.

Yes it is not very hard to get the education as there are a lot of sites which gives you good ideas about increasing your knowledge about financiers it is the only you who can force you to learn and who can teach you with experience, we can increase our knowledge and we can get educated by sharing our knowledge and our information about the finances, so better to take about everything and increase our knowledge about bitcoin and get as much as education we can get as it is free does not change anything but it’s really useful .

Warren Buffet had the school of life, the school of hard knocks to teach him I think.   He grew up in the great depression when USA closed its borders to free trade and suffered greatly.  He had the gold standard in effect at that time, which showed the mistakes quite clearly in pricing.

That was a great lesson by the system itself even while it was a troubled economy, it was an honest reporter of ongoing problems occurring.   The modern situation is quite different and this latest generation does not have this solid background to learn from.
We do not have a gold standard any longer, we have continual budget deficits aided by loose monetary policy and the devaluation of the dollar.  A very different playing field to the gold standard dollar of the 1920's 30's era that Warren experienced.

The current troubles and causes of failure and success to a business now is quite convoluted and hard to learn just by the apparent prices in the market.  Politics interferes quite alot to the business balance sheets of every company in USA.   To be good on figures alone now would not be enough, a finance education would have to very much aware of politics globally.

As for the financial attitude of a person are sometimes depends on how they were raised by their parents, some parents are making their children like the prodigal. Spoiled brats are mostly getting old without any financial plan for their selves and just making the decision for a day. Money comes, money goes.
They were not taught to plan their future as they were raised buying their wants everytime they like something they get it.
Parents are the foundation of what the children will be, school is just guiding the children, and making the foundation stronger.

We can start to educate ourselves by reading books about financial literature or searching through the internet. All we need is an initiative because we can learn about these things if we are not dependent in the educational program of the government. The government is kinda guilty of the lack of financial education! At least in most countries there is a mandatory schedule and content for the students to learn and know. If the students are too busy learning how to do things that they will never use they dont have the class time to learn basics of financial education, economics, basic justice system, a slightly idea of how to pay or declare taxes and etcs. School dont give insights about real life.

The lack of financial education is indeed one of the root of being poor and the correct amount of financial education and correct mindset will bring health in accompanied with the right action. This things should be thought in school as well and not just science, math, english and other subject. Financial literacy is very important for kids in order for them to get ready for the future.

I don’t think we can rely just on school education to teach our children about finance. The lesson starts at home. In my family, 10% is the magic number.
•   First, I make sure my children put 10% of their weekly allowance to savings before they spend the rest of their money.
•   Second, the can only buy their toys if the price of the stuff is maximum 10% of their total savings.
My parents raised me with the same system. They make sure that I know the difference between needs and wants. You only buy what you need. Period.

I, myself is lack of information and knowledge on finances and I am in regret. I grew up hating numbers and finances because it makes my head ache or maybe I was introduced to mathematics and finances in the wrong way.

Today, I was hoping I had some background about finances or marketing even the most basic. To understand common terms such as stocks, demands and supply and the like that is now related to bitcoin. I am having a hard time to understand the mechanics of cryptocurrency and blockchain because I am not into accountancy, commerce and the like.

Now, I think this basic information should at least be included in the early education system as a whole not only in particular areas. Students may find this ridiculous but eventually they will know its value when time comes.

I do agree with some of your thoughts but no one controls cryptocurrency and the only way to spread it around the world is by using internet, social media and other forms advertisement. Education is the best weapon for all of the people and it doesn't mean that you need to go to school in order to have the best education because you can get the education if you will do self study and that is even better rather than going to school because you will be having more time to spend and you have the focus or concentration to put on the things that you like.
