You can't prevent selling merit anyhow. Anyway, system is far from perfect, frequently I see people that got their merit from quite useless posts, and sometimes people who provide nice self-made content, but their topics/messages are just overlooked or belong to unpopular sections

I agree that selling merit is abuse and it's not right. The sense of merit is to be given not sold. But this is human nature, they find how to make money out of everything without thinking is it right or wrong.
Sometimes people are just malicious and don't want to share something that is free, like merit is, but they want to make profit from it. But currently the way thy system of merit is functioning it can't be monitored or checked to prevent selling.

If need to growth for your account. Improve your post quality. If merit will be  increase. Your account rank will be improved. So you improve your post quality then people will be give the merit. Merit is like for your post. It will be not sell. So if need to improve your account. Fist you improve your post quality. It help to for your future growth.

What is the point of getting merits when you dont actually contribute anything to the community. I mean, admins cannot do anything about selling these because they cannot detect it with artificial intelligence.

Point is higher rank, higher rank earn more in signature campaign, point is making money.
I respect op and his post, but we can't do anything about it. Accounts are not for sale too, but its happening everyday. People who trade with accounts and merits are doing that on other place, that's why it's hard to catch them. In meta section you can find many threads about people who do that and how they do that. I'm not so active there, but from time to time I like to read what is happening, its good to be informed in this times about everything.

merit is an appreciation for every person who makes the thread constructively and qualitatively, so if anyone sells the merit is breaking the rules and has gone out of purpose making the merit itself ...
So for everyone do not try to sell it because if caught selling merit will get punishment from this forum moderator.

I understand that merit is an award given to members for making posts of above average quality. But I hope everybody is given a fair share when it comes to decision of evaluating what are above average posts should be.

Ya exactly I mean, we can get merit from the quality of ourselves post, if the others things that your post was helpful, meaningful and have it own knowledge people will give you tho. Imagine if you buy some merit but you don't have those skill to make a good quality post it same mean nothing.

Merit is created and a new rule in this forum for us members to be more creative, imaginative, and be more logical and informative when it comes to posting a comments in every thread. We have to work hard for it even if it takes months or more for us members to recieve one merit. We have to be fair for everybody and for ourselves as well. Merit is not sale, we have to work hard for it.

I don’t think so that you will find anyone who will sell you his own merit. There is no way that you can get the merit and that too not by putting in your efforts but using your money. If you really want to get the merit, then you must put in the best of your efforts and that you must be sure that you are not doing any kind of illegal activity to get the thing which don’t even belong to you.

maybe they are doing such thing because they are newbie like me.(buying merit is cheating for me) it is really a hard time for us newbies to gain merits because we are still on the stage of learning things so we do not have enough infos or new learnings that we can share to everybody. maybe thats the reason

selling merit is not fair. The person who sells and buy merit is a very selfish person. You're right, people like this has to be punished by the moderators for them to learn their lessons. Many people here in the forum is trying their best to give good quality post to gain at least 1 or 2 merits. Everybody has to be fair and don't  do anything illegal just to rank up, if you get caught selling or buying merits it will be your lost and you will not have anymore opportunity to be in this forum.

yes, I agree with you I would like to have more merit but I do not think anyone would sell to me or I wouldn't begg someone, because I am and will study about cryp, I will post quality articles, make contributions For this forum I believe I will soon have many merit
