Merit not for sale!

It's all beautiful and clear that selling "Merit" can not be, it's bad and not decent etc.
But I think that after the introduction of the initial points "Merit", it was not entirely justified. For example, they do not need for Legendar accounts (they have nowhere else to develop their rank) and I'm afraid they will distribute glasses to their friends and acquaintances (I'm not saying it's just my preference).

They should still get sMerit points but I think it would make more sense if lower status got more than a couple. I for instance got 4 yet my merit ranking was 100, I felt like I should have had anywhere from 10-25 would be more appropriate. Would have gotten the ball rolling so to speak, now I feel people are more stingy with their sMerits which is their right but doesn't help the community feel and vibe.

Just report those people who are selling their sMerits and they shouldn't be tolerated and when you found one you are contributing to the forum.

Yes merit is not for sale. Merit is the points given to you if your post is useful and constructive. Selling merit is not prohibited, buyers of merits are just wasting you're money. You can get merit by just constructing a very useful topic.

If i have insight too sir who abused merit system i immediate report to the DT members, those abusers may not exist here on this forum they are cheated the rules given by admin, they are not fair to others it's a kind of selfish and yes they shouldn't be tolerated that they not obey the new rules.

Selling of smerit is useful if you did not posted a quality post at that case you may demerit by admins.
Not necessary to buy smerit it is a big challenge on us just to have a quality post even though we are on delayed ranking system but hopefully we reached the required amount smerit to rank.

NO matter for how good reason a plan is implemented there is some people who always find a way to crack down a way which totally ruins the reason of the new system. And sadly there are already some people selling and buying merits what I have heard or there are people who are trading merits irrespective of post qualities.

The sad thing is almost people whom are selling Merits are high member rank Sr. Member and above cause the amount Merit they can give to other member is very large. It took a really long time to reach to Sr. Member, Hero Member or Legendary, these members have joined this forum for years but they just always wanna take advantage of this forum, they don't really care how to make this forum become better than before. Feel really bad about this. Beside I think it'll be really hard to stop buying and selling Merit cause I think they will use other way to contact instead of making any topic in this forum anymore.

Saddly, but many people are already selling/buying Merit points, for example here:

On local boards there are much more Merit sellers. There was people who got 20 or even 50 Merit for a low quality posts, it's obvious abuse of Merit system. Both, buyer and seller has to be reported to DT members and they will give them red trust rating.

The merit system seriously pushes you to make a quality posts. Seriously everyone spends time in reading, analyzing and replying to the thread with accurate information. I personally, subscribed to many crypto news channels to gather up to date news on crypto currencies and blockchain. This helps me contribute a quality posts that would help the newbies and others who starve for data around crypto currencies.

On the plus side, they could incentivize posters to try harder to make quality posts. It could be a good system in some respects.

It already started to have that effect I noticed after theymos's implementation of the Merit 'system'. In some cases it's very obvious that people are posting in a very forced manner to obtain a Merit or two, but at least they put time and effort into their posts, and that's something we can all be happy with, and especially so when we're a few months away from now. I am glad that theymos allocated his precious time to getting this Merit system up and running -- people for so long were complaining about theymos to not do anything about spammers, and now it shows that he does actually do something to prevent further spamming.

I think we just follow what has become this Bitcointalk rule. I myself feel difficult when I can not merit, but it did not break my spirits, in fact I am more excited again with this bitcointalk and I hope it will also happen for the members who have not got merit. And for the newcomers this is your peer challenge here also in our patience test. The important thing remains the spirit and Take the positive course

I agree that a lot of messages began to appear in the last time, which are repeated and do not carry new information. However, these new rules are not finalized in my opinion. To get Merit in principle is not realistic. You become a hostage to people with high rank.
1. You help advice to a newbie. And you do not get Merit, because a newbie can not give it to you.
2. You write news on the forum, which is important, fresh. Published 2 minutes ago. This post flies to 20 page in 5 minutes. Since in the heap "what should I buy for $ 5?", "How to make x100?" the normal topic is simply lost. And you do not get Merit.
3. There must be an automatic mechanism for obtaining Merit. Since in this form, as it is now - this is a totalitarian regime with elements of pressure.
I'm not against innovations. But I do not want to depend only on the likes of high ranks. At least half of Merit can be charged by the forum system if the messages meet certain criteria.

Having a constructive and useful topics can get merit. Merit is the point given to you if  your post become useful or meaningful. Yes merit is not for sale! Merit system is the best idea to minimize shit posts. Selling merit is not prohibited by the administration. With these words you do really deserve some merit. Patience and following the rules would be always the key in which things would happen along the way. Earning merits would really be hard this is why we do really make some effort on our postings not a total crap so that higher members or the community would recognize on how good it is.Youll earn on what you deserve.

Well i hope all are fair about this feauture i have a merit to all the post have a sense and quality post are giving a merit because its wonderful or excellence post so why merit are not selling as you can see merit is example to correct and wonderfulling your answer to have a merit, so we need to hardworking to our own asses

Or maybe you should question why it is that merit points are so important to you.  I'm thinking that if you're so concerned about getting (or NOT getting) merits, you're on the forum for the wrong reasons.   

I didn't come here to join a sig campaign in 2015.  I was a lurker for about a year, just enjoying the drama and watching people scam each other and so forth.  This forum always had something interesting going on, and when I finally created an account, I still did more reading than posting.  The posting I did was for my edification, and I didn't join a sig campaign until about 9 months in, if I recall correctly.

Nowadays you've got word spreading all around Asia that there's this great forum where you can get paid to post, and no experience or skill is required.....except that's changed now.  The merit system has upped the requirements significantly, and it's a beautiful thing.

I wouldn't give a single merit point for the above post, because it's babbling in lousy English.  People who can't speak the language are going to have a very tough time advancing here, and that's exactly how it should be.  Shitposters BE GONE.

Grateful that has long played here because it may merit in can be automated because of the system. for those of us who are new it is very difficult, it is good writing more quality. But maybe it can also be misused, for example because id one with the other know each other then he can give a merit when postnya seem ordinary. Will that give merit to another Id, merit itself will decrease?

I also hope this newly added merit system will enhance quality in this platform, but I think this system should be modified and added more features regarding the increase the quality of this Bitcointalk forum. if you are able to give a merit point to your own post then how can you trust this merit system? So this system should be more constructive in order to carry the importance of this initiative.

Also dont even beg for merit it will be given to you if you follow the main reason why this merit was implemented, we should need to made constructive, quality and meaningful post to help the community.
