Watching and studying this Merit system i have come to a conclusion that it is basically a MindSet - A Positive Mindset.

Although Quality Posts are required to get this Merit Points but indeed if you have below mentioned qualities there will be no problem for you.

1 - A healthy Mindset to do things in Right Way
2-  Posts according to your Will and express your point of view and Not only to complete the Homework (Signature Campaigns / Bounties Minimum    Postings)
3-Discaourage the Alts and focus on one account with full dedication and you will be rewarded in the long term
4-Even if English is not your first language, but if you are willing to learn and contribute you can still move forward with this system
5-If you have above quality , you can earn even better than before

The people who opposes this  system are basically those

1- Who want to gain quick bucks by bad posting
2- Who have no opinion and repeat the same thing again and again for monetary value
3-Who don't want to change their writing habits
4-Who are using this forum as a part time job to get money by doing nothing healthy
5-Who want to succeed in life by shortcuts or by deceiving others
6-Who are negative mind set people and they always cry seeing a change

So Final thoughts
Be Positive and Take Your Work ONE STEP AHEAD

I agree. I think it is a great way to get those who have become obsessed with spreading negativity to instead focus on rewarding positivity.

That's a needless fallacy right there. All the reasons you've listed are not all the reasons for which some might be dissatisfied with this solution. E.g., I know at least one user who shared their concerns with me via PM. The introduction of a complex system is a joke given that what we really needed were simple solutions to the disease that spread within this forum.

I guess just withholding sMerit until it decays would be a sign of protest.

So you are against this Merit thing introduction and need a more easy solution to eliminate the problems ?

Partially. When you are tackling a problem, you should look for the simplest solutions for it. There are just so many simple ways that this could have been dealt with, and much more quickly. The only reason for which Merit was introduced right now is because certain users got into DT2 and continued tagging shitposters with negative ratings. In other words, because the community pushed in the direction that theymos has been unable to find for many years.

A measure put in place for the betterment of this forum should be supported. Also, the formulators of these measures should reach out to as many forum participants with enormous experience so that when a measure is being worked out. This will boost the effectiveness of the measure.

Indeed this is the good way , if not the best, to cut down the spam and discourage the alts and make it harder for those who want to misuse the forum or the bounties etc.
If everyone thinks in the OP way, maybe we would never had to use these systems .

Slowly and steadily wins the race. So this merit system will soon be digested among the people of the forum and they will make quality posts to make them progress in their ranks.
