NSFW links are OK if they have a disclaimer.

Agreed.  Otherwise, where was the porn OP was talking about?

Am I wrong in thinking it'd be more appropriate to ask what the pornography laws in Finland are like?

Internet != America.

Just saying.

You say it like the US federal government cares if they break the rules.  I do agree with the OP on that, it's in our best interest not to give them a reason.  We still need to time build the community before its time.

Im glad y'all took time to read the laws.

(1) Prohibited conduct
Whoever knowingly and with knowledge of the character of the
material, in interstate or foreign commerce by means of the World
Wide Web, makes any communication for commercial purposes that is
available to any minor and that includes any material that is
harmful to minors shall be fined not more than $50,000,
imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both.

(3) Civil penalty
In addition to the penalties under paragraphs (1) and (2),
whoever violates paragraph (1) shall be subject to a civil
penalty of not more than $50,000 for each violation. For purposes
of this paragraph, each day of violation shall constitute a
separate violation.

(B) Engaged in the business
The term "engaged in the business" means that the person who
makes a communication, or offers to make a communication, by
means of the World Wide Web, that includes any material that is
harmful to minors, devotes time, attention, or labor to such
activities, as a regular course of such person's trade or
business, with the objective of earning a profit as a result of
such activities (although it is not necessary that the person
make a profit or that the making or offering to make such
communications be the person's sole or principal business or
source of income). A person may be considered to be engaged in
the business of making, by means of the World Wide Web,
communications for commercial purposes that include material
that is harmful to minors, only if the person knowingly causes
the material that is harmful to minors to be posted on the
World Wide Web or knowingly solicits such material to be posted
on the World Wide Web.

(6) Material that is harmful to minors
The term "material that is harmful to minors" means any
communication, picture, image, graphic image file, article,
recording, writing, or other matter of any kind that is obscene
or that -
(A) the average person, applying contemporary community
standards, would find, taking the material as a whole and with
respect to minors, is designed to appeal to, or is designed to
pander to, the prurient interest;
(B) depicts, describes, or represents, in a manner patently
offensive with respect to minors, an actual or simulated sexual
act or sexual contact, an actual or simulated normal or
perverted sexual act, or a lewd exhibition of the genitals or
post-pubescent female breast

Thats a point to consider,  but since it seems the server is in the USA that would give them more then enough to claim jurisdiction.

+1, enough with the puritanism.

We cannot cater to all the weird rules that countries have about showing human bodies, otherwise we'd have to ban anyone that shows a picture of a woman without her face covered in public.

Maybe we better should, before the Iranian govt takes action on us!

The forum post: Worlds First Bitcoin Tattoo, is in violation of the law. I have reported at least one image to the admins with no action taken. Apparently your not allowed to cuss on this forum but you can show naked bodies or body parts. Its a strange form of ethics. If you like porn good for you. But keep it off this forum. Porn is a major vector for viruses.

Take action to corrects this problem by requiring people to verifiy their age or remove the offending images or I will be forced to report this site for violations of the law. You have 72 hours to take action. If you want to expose yourself to $50,000 fine and/or 6 months in jail its your choice. It should be noted that the posters might be just as liable as the forum operators.

Porn is a major vector for viruses.
Watching Porn actually is quite safe. Only the real life encounters with prostitution is the major vector of viruses, bacteria and pubic lices.

About your original post, just chill down! Internet is for porn, got it? And the pictures in question are not even porn.

Don't want to drive this already demeted thread to full offtopic, but such malware spreading sites does not contain real porn. They are type of social engineering to trick users to download and double click malware executable file. The real porn sites with dialers installed using vulnerable and misconfigured Internet Explorer 5.01 and 5.5 is more than decade old history. Ohh, times when almost every computer had a V90 Flex modem connected to phone line...

MeSarah is more educated about porn than she'll ever be.  But if not, I hope the lawyer who will be called upon for this will brief her on how this internets work.

...

Thank you! That's the main point: "THE US" doesn't own the Internet. So, "the US Law" doesn't apply here.  Tongue

The OP is just the latest example of the traditional American arrogance and self-centeredness, which we see on a regular basis here...  Roll Eyes

If something "violates the US Law," or is inconsistent with "the American Way of Life," an amazing numbers of Americans even in this forum think that it should not be allowed!

I guess if a nation is a leading exporter of arms and has the market cornered on nuclear aircraft carrier combat groups, it's no wonder that so many Americans believe they can impose "the US Law" on what they call "the rest of the world..."  Cheesy

I want to say this is so fucking prejudice and wrong if it weren't so true.  And you think the Bitcoin forums, where it is basically a world market going on here, people would not even question such bullshit as a tattoo image.  In fact, I can't believe this is even for real anymore.

I am calling out MeSarah as a troll and we all got punk'd, people cannot really think that simple of established law and how it is applying to online and where they are located.   I believed her as a real person for a while, good job MeSarah.

MeSarah was complaining about the pron that was posted a couple pages AFTER the tattoo pictures, which was removed shortly after this thread was started.  She's not complaining about the tattoo pictures.

hey I get sick of seeing porn outside of porn sites too.

But mesarah, you went about this not only the wrong way, but the biggest douchebag way you can.

Your the kind of bitch that calls the cops on the neighbors for noise without asking them first to turn it down.

You sound like you probably have never gotten laid in your life.

and your reading comprehension skills are that of a retard.

Please do us all a favor and leave.
