Hello BCT Community, there is a new system called merit I have a suggestion to improve it.
First there are way to many people selling BCT account at market place and Mod can't catch up with everything so I suggest using the report button every 10 report made could allow you to earn some merit?
Like anyone who breaks the rules just simply report it to mod once it's approve the reporter will earn some merits?
Isn't this a good way of cleaning up the forum and reward system tends to make people work for it.
Hope this get approved 👍
-Peace-
PS.
Account sales is allowed? But not in this forum I personally think people want to buy account go somewhere else?
Like this is a way of cheating. Who agrees with me? Let me know down below if people selling accounts should be banned?

After some discussion
How about we call report merit (rMerits)? A different section to gain points on? Which will bring a whole new system into the forum? rMerits couldn't be given or what only be gained and it's a system showing how much this particular person contribute to the forum?
Merits for quality post
rMerits for contribution on cleaning the forum?
If abuser report without a fruitful reason the person's rMerit will get deducted, if the report is approved he gets +1 if he report for the sake of getting points without reasons he will get -1 from there it's kinda like a reputation system too.

Follow this format to add on features so I can edit and enter it inside I'll do a full revamp on this post.
Add on features (improvement could be made)
(Merit / rMerit)
Improvement : (comment here)

Brilliant idea! I think reporting posts and threads is a great feature on this forum that is not used enough. I try to use more but often times I just forget about it and scroll through lines and lines of one-liners, spam, "Great project Sir" posts, so that I find the information that I need. But we took time and report those useless posts, the quality and usefulness would be much better. Reporting of scam attempts is even more important, of course.

So yeah, I think small reward with Merits would be good way to encourage reporting. Maybe 3 Merit per 10 accepted reports?
In order to prevent report-hunting a user would get warning after 3 false reports and ban after 6 false reports or something like that. Moderators are the people who decide for each report and I haven't seen any complaints on their report-solving so far.

According to forum rules, account sales are discouraged. And most Moderators have opinion that account that was bought is a threat to other users because they might trust him because of rank or post history, which in reality is work of someone else so such bought accounts are not trustworthy and often times get Red trust. And I agree with you, it is a way of cheating and I am against it.

Now that is a really good idea. I bet we would be nailing spammers left and right if that were implemented.

Yes the system people abuse it they create or buy account then trade around trust / merit(new) to build a fake reputation... It sucks, discourage to sell account yes we can't stop but we could make their life harder by banning them they could sell it at other forums it's out of our control but we could ban them selling here great idea right?

Yes if it's implemented we surely will clean up the forum for good

Up for this. I like this idea to be implemented so everyone can participate and be vigilant in this forum.
The bad thing about it is that it will also be abused but not all system are perfect, it will be a great start though.

Some posts are obvious fake or obviously did not read the thread, the topic. I think when such posts come up, the history should be reviewed, and if all or most of the posts are similar, they should be banned.

I like your idea but to be honest this is not the sole purpose of the sMerit system.

If we start earning the merits based on your "Report to Moderator" about the suspicious activities then it will surely create fire of chaos where people will start creating multiple fraud reports with no meaning to it. They might just throw some balls here and there with no valid reasons, for the moderators they have very big responsibilities than looking after 100's of reports daily. Im sure they are busy doing vital stuff for the forum development.

The greed is bad ass, and you will never know when the forum member turned into gang of merit hunter from the quality poster!

That's, my friend is actual goal we want to establish here, the rest will follow automatically.

i dont think its a good idea ,
Suppose ech user report 1 post Each days to earn and How many member will do this process .... And How many Mod team currently hired to stop spam.
This will increase high load on Mod and admin

True people are already here to stop Spam They are doing their work.
Instend You start Focus on how you can write Quality post

I think its a good idea. But should not be only focused on account farmers/sellers, all types of cheating should be included. E.g. merit abuse and  spamming as well.

People could volunteer to apply for mod and keep the place spam free? No need to hire more mod and work load if we report they could just look at it instead of being on the forum scrolling and finding spams etc we as user could just help them out in a way by reporting users who had made an offend.
Yes there are more n more people coming into crypto space so people would sign up here so everyone who signed up needs to read a page before starting off.
A page which list all the rules and agree to it and maybe wait for admin to approve the account ?

I am somehow against this. Although you proposed something to prevent report hunters, i don't think reward system would stop them. The main purpose of the merit system is to push everybody to post quality posts to gain merits and to discourage shit posters by not letting them rank up easily.

Why am i against this?

1. People would have another choice to increase their merits. Therefore, they may rely on hunting spammers, abusers, etc. on gaining merits. Instead of improving or changing their way of posting if there are much easier ways to gain merits.

2. Moderators/admin would have another task to manage. Imagine the majority report hunting to gain merits, admins/moderators would have tons of report to check plus mass reporting may caused headache to the mods (more than 1 account may report a single spammer). Or even worse, mass reporting can be abused by group of people who are bullying some accounts.

Sorry if i'm against this, best regards!

Same here im also thinking the same way as you. What if someone could use it or abuse it own their own? just like happened on the trust system recently?

Shitposters reporting shitposters? There's so much spam and useless comments here that it wouldn't take long at all to get enough merit points to rank up this way. I wouldn't be against people being rewarded somehow by merely reporting as there's not enough reporting going on as it is and people would rather just post in a shit thread than report it but being able to get a point for one report would be too easy. Maybe staff could give them out occasionally for the best reports though or for finding copy and pasters etc because that still takes effort.

I also think the same way as you, because their will gonna be instances when shitposters will not be urge to improve their posts but will rely only to report to gain easy merit. It could be abused by others, and after sometime they will report "Report abuse" then the real problem wont stop.

Exactly. There is no good way to detect that; it'd only become possible to see patterns over a long period of time, and only if you really look closely.
