Was unsuccessful on google. Am a newb.

- I want to look at the balance of my coins on the respective blockchain explorers (instead of logging in the Ledger nano)
- Therefore i need the public key, do i
- Where to find the public key in my ledger?

I tried to find the public key of my dash coins and my bitcoin gold so far.

Eg Bitcoin gold: I have 3 operations (sent/received) in my bitcoin gold ledger.

I checked all these adresses on btg blockchain explorer:
- on every operation i checked the 'to: ' and 'from: ' adress
- i also checked the address from the 'receiving' thing

Result: No address had the bitcoin gold. (That shows in my ledger) It showed the transactions it did, incoming and outgoing.

Thanks a lot

I never had a need to get my public key from Ledger, but after you post I check and there is solution how to get public key from Ledger. You need first to open the Ledger Wallet Chrome Bitcoin app, then click on My Account and Account Settings - Then under Extended public key click Export and you will get your public key.

I do not know what is problem with your BTG address,so far I did not use that altcoin and I do not have it in my Ledger. But if you have BTG wallet in your Ledger, that address should be visible here: https://btgexp.com/

Cool.
But what i get then is an 'extended public key'. When i put this really long key (longer than receive addresses eg) into any bitcoin gold blockchain explorer, it does not find anything. (I tried 3 different ones. I found stuff for my receive addresses, but no result at all for this extended key)
I think 'extended public key' is something different than public key?

It should work to my knowledge, when you get that extend private key from Ledger for BTC account you need to copy/paste that key in blockchain.info to check your BTC balance and transaction.

Check this public key : xpub/xpub6CUGRUonZSQ4TWtTMmzXdrXDtypWKiKrhko4egpiMZbpiaQL2jkwSB1icqYh2cfDfVxdx4df189oLKnC5fSwqPfgyP3hooxujYzAu3fDVmz

and this is how it should look when you enter them on blockchain.info : https://blockchain.info/xpub/xpub6CUGRUonZSQ4TWtTMmzXdrXDtypWKiKrhko4egpiMZbpiaQL2jkwSB1icqYh2cfDfVxdx4df189oLKnC5fSwqPfgyP3hooxujYzAu3fDVmz

Maybe problem is in format, just checked in Ledger and to work try to add xpub/ in front of public key.For every coin you want to do this you need follow same procedure and check on his blockexplorer.

You can also download Electrum and create watch only wallet.

Thanks!

I actually find something on this blockchain in your format - but blockchain.info is of course for bitcoin, so i need the same for bitcoin gold.

I tried these Bitcoin Gold Blockchain explorers:
btgexplorer.net
btgexp.com
www.btgblocks.com

I tried just putting the key in the 'search' field and there were no result in each.
I also tried adding xpub/ (www.btgblocks.com/xpub/xpub......) but this just gave me a 'site not found'.

I would post the extended public key but i am not sure of the security implications, this being a site that everybody can watch and stuff.

Hm.. gonna have this problem with some other coins to, let's see if i get some knowledge
