The interest rates I see for the CD's are 0.00001% for 24 hours . The fact that I am receiving fee rebates and if indeed TF is choosing to keep this up and running, I feel better about this. I rather wait 3 months and be able to withdraw my full amount opposed to either A) not receiving a payback or B) receiving some partial 40%. There may be hope and I may still be in the crypto game.

So the thread tallying amount still owed which began only 5 hrs ago already shows 2100 coins owed. It looks like TF owed a lot more than the 4100 coins stolen. If his 1000 coin wallet plus loans due plus 4100 do not match the total owed than he was insolvent at the time of the theft. This does not include the amount he owed BTCINVEST investors which also came due right at the time of the theft. I think the people that are asking for government / legal intervention are ruinous to the bitcoin community. If you want to live in a place where there are no risks and progress is slow, why bother to venture into the bitcoin world? Aren't you sufficiently happy with the damage you've done in the real world?
There are a bajillion ways to improve the bitcoin economy to make this less likely in the future. Contribute! If you're only capable of requesting the use of direct, uninitiated force against, then... well.. don't.
What will happen to the integrity of the protocol as the majority of its users think we need a safety net to protect victims of carelessness?
A crime was committed. There are laws and punishment already in place to address this situation. You've been robbed. Do something about it. |
