Well, the fact is bitcoin and other altcoins will never be safe in hackers. Everywhere and everyday there are hackers and they are waiting to a time to steal bitcoin in some users. So for me, the safe way to avoid hackers and scammers to be aware and knowledgeable enough for their actions. Always check your wallet and do not trust some website because it can be a prone to hack your account. Be careful also to the airdrops that suddenly pop up on your chrome. Cryptocurrencies are very safe but the problem is that people expect to store millions of dollars on their computers when they are using a pirated operative system, if you do that then you are asking for trouble, if you really do not know how to secure your computer then the only option I see is that you buy a hardware wallet, for some a hardware wallet may seem costly but it is way cheaper than to lose your coins to hackers.

We better used a bitcoin wallet has private keys so that no one can access our bitcoin wallet or you can used also a hardware wallet like "Ledger" that's one of the safest wallet i know. About ICO, many ICO has complete datails and white paper but in the end its become a scammer.
