It is, and it will go down to $1000 soon because bitcoin is impractical and has exorbitant transaction fees and takes hours or weeks to confirm transaction.
For example average bitcoin fee is $5-20 whereas bitcoin cash is 2 cents only. So people willl move to altcoins which are more practical (facebook will implement litecoin soon) and bitcoin will burst  Grin

bitcoin is not "like a bubble", bitcoin as something that is traded and has value goes into baubles from time to time which is kind of a normal market behavior in any market.

and yes bitcoin was in a bubble, a lot of bubbles actually some of them big and some of them small which lasted a short time. the last bubble bitcoin had was the $20000 price which burst and was corrected last month when price dropped down to ~$14000 and with the recent drops it went below the real value like an over-correction because of lots of weak hand newbies.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

No it is not like a bubble it is like assets, and price frustration is normal for any asset. There were a lot of examples in history, when price of gold, oil and etc was going down or was growing, same is for bitcoin.

Is it true that bitcoin is like a bubble ?

Bitcoin is not a bubble. Cryptocurrency is a bubble. The amount of ICOs (initial coin offerings) coming out is insane and most of them don't have any real business model or utility to offer the non-cryptocurrency market. Most of these new coins or tokens will never have any value and those that do only have value because people believe they might take off someday (like Bitcoin). But if the token has not value to the market, the value will collapse from the weight of that speculation.

Bitcoin, on the other hand, has utility as an investment asset class (more so than a currency) and has seen multiple corrections after quick run ups, particularly in 2017. These corrections represent the relieving of investment pressure that builds up over time.

Some people compare Bitcoin to the internet bubble, this is a fair comparison. And in that scenario Bitcoin is Google. Google didn't die after the internet bubble collapsed. It's value went down and then it continued to grow. Litecoin is Yahoo. Ethereum is Amazon. But a lot of these ICO tokens are "Pets.com", they'll disappear and never be heard of again.

Its growing value has proved its worth - and of course its price will fluctuate, just like any new technology. But it is obviously not a scam. When people become accustomed to paying and receiving money using bitcoin, they stop using the dollar, the euro, and the yuan, devaluing them over the long term. The potential of bitcoin will slowly prove that it is not a bubble

Not only some but there are plenty of them that said that bitcoin is not only like a bubble but its literally a bubble. And you know what? it has burst for so many times.
Now current situation we can say its price is going down and down.
Its not going down and down, but its up and down. That's a normal thing in a free market that is decentralized to make things balance.
Is it true that bitcoin is like a bubble ?
In my opinion, its not but for others it is.

i think some dont understand "bubble"

so here goes

for example, the real estate bubble: houses exist and have function. this means that a bubble is not about investing in imaginary/fake things. it means investing in things that exist and have value.... but if it is in a bubble, then the PRICE is speculated far higher then its underlying value

EG
imagine a bath/sink of soapy water
bitcoin/houses are the water, true value is the water level. and the PRICE is the speculative vapour above the water line, because when many people try to stir up the water, a bubble forms (over priced).

when the water calms and settles and the bubbles burst, the real value underlying can be seen

in short bitcoin is not a bubble.. but bitcoins PRICE is currently in a bubble(over priced)
and only when you can see the true underlying value (a new low price that it never drops below) you learn the difference between price and value.(bubble and water line)

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

These are the people in the big industries who got their life ruined because many millionaires were formed after the up surge of the bitcoin. They got jealous of the idea behind bitcoin and how it made many easy peasy millionaires! Lolz. Also if you see the social medias then common people are supportive than these people.

Im great believer of the bitcoin and according to me this is natural wave which has to be here at this point of year. With such down value many investors get attract to it and then they help grow our community more stronger. The effect can be seen in the later parts of the year.

The question is for how long will they keep saying it as bubble? The bitcoin has already achieved great milestones and people still called it as bubble. Thats a shit thing.

Bitcoin has existed for nine years, and from the beginning people are not optimistic. People are always vilifying and bitter against Bitcoin, but Bitcoin is getting better and better. When people are used to using bitcoin as a means of payment in the future, they know what they are missing now.

I think bitcoin is not a bubble because, the value of bitcoin also has some downs in it, and a bubble is always growing larger and larger, while bitcoin is growing larger and getting smaller by the minute.

after 9 years of strong life BTC has been called in many different ways, and bubble is one of the most used due to high fluctuation in price.
It depends how you define bubble because, for example, what we have seen at the end of 2017 it might be called bubble: bull rush to the all time high and then boom, the bubble exploded and BTC is back to normal price.
From the other side of the coin this is a correction and not a bubble and this wasn't the first nor the last time it will happen.

I don't think so.
I think it's normal that the price of bitcoin is reduced.
Review the development of bitcoin.
You'll find it's a normal thing to do.
Finally, bitcoin returns to normal.

No, this is not a bubble. Since the bubble has a place to burst. It's bursting because someone's promises do not come true. But bitcoin did not promise to anyone. This is a means of payment and reward.

I would say it is quite obvious bitcoin is not a bubble, bitcoin has been going strong for almost a decade now, that's an unusually long lasting bubble, even the dotcom bubble didn't last anywhere near that long. Bitcoin still has massive room for growth, with 100x growth still feasible, as clearly less than 100th of the population use bitcoin. I would say bitcoin is more like early currency, it will grow, it will expand, and its utility will increase as more use cases are discovered. Bitcoin will not pop any time soon, it is still in its infancy.

Some people say bitcoin is like a bubble and it will burst one day. Now current situation we can say its price is going down and down. Is it true that bitcoin is like a bubble ?

Many of the technological advances we have once they get popular experienced some sort of a bubble...but if one is really useful to humanity it can get stable and be permanent fixture for use by interested people. The question is: Will Bitcoin be really useful for many of us? Your question or concern is directly tied to the answer to that question but since this is a very theoretical question the answer can vary from one extreme answer to the other. In other words, only time can tell if Bitcoin will go bubbles. Just watch out for that.

The rapid price rise does not constitute a bubble. Artificial overestimation will lead to a sudden downward revision, will constitute a bubble. The selection of individual behaviors based on thousands of market participants leads to the volatility of bitcoin prices as a result of market-determined prices. Emotionally, the reasons for price changes include: loss of confidence in Bitcoin, not based on the huge differences between the price and value of the fundamentals of Bitcoin economy, more and more news reports that stimulate speculative demand, and not Certainty of fear, outdated, irrational prosperity and greed.

Many financial experts see characteristics of a bubble in bitcoin and so they assume that bitcoin is also a bubble. I think what this experts do not understand is the technology of  bitcoin, what it can do to change the financial system in the world. They are just focusing on the chart and not studying what bitcoin really is.

The similar thoughts have emerged from the beginning of growing popularity of btc but its not true at all.Plenty make comparison with dot com bubble but be sure about one thing that btc in any case is not a bubble.Price fluctuations are its nature and if they arr going down they will grow also as happen with gold and other assets.Stay calm and avoid such negativity around you which hinders btc growth.

Only the real ignorant is able to call a bitcoin a bubble or a ponzi scheme. Bitcoin is a currency and it is normal that it has its ups and downs we can't avoid it and the price is determined by demand and supply,  so the price current falling is no argument that bitcoin is a bubble or a financial pyramid. Firstly, read a bit about bitcoin and then make such conclusions. At the beginning, people said that the bubble will break after a year and today we are 9 years after this incident and bitcoin is good.

But after breaking bubble, the real demand of crypt currency appeared.

Tulip Mania lasted this long and no one knew about bitcoin four years ago hardly and as usual your only
seeing what you want to see whilst trying to not think about the core network which will not scale like other better networks
that are now catching up on the early start Bitcoin got.

Old costly and slow will be replace by fast and cheap and is natural evolution which is bound to upset the OAP's

We cannot tell that unless it pops now.  But seriously it is no longer a bubble because bitcoin has been around for almost a decade now and it does not burst.  The change of bitcoin price is just normal because we all know that it is the nature of bitcoin.  Well just take advantage of bitcoin as long as it is still giving us income.

Bubble itself has no value, but the currency is a very high cost, but also there are some COINS in the field of payment value,
can be said to be the data of gold, so bubble and the currency is simply cannot compare.Lips sealed

I see the bitcoin since 2015. As  I know, Bitcoin become a superhero for many people, but there are some people just know it and do not know how to get it as correct ways. So many rising ponzy that yse bitcoin for converting their coin. All problems make market not stable. I hope Bitcoin can make positive market forever. Be careful in choosing momentum of trading.

bitcoin is not like a bubble, because, Bitcoin prices grow as a result of the basic economy. Its supply is limited to 21 million units and this certainly makes rare assets a bit. If everything is scarce and people want it, then, its value will eventually increase. so on the supply and demand that determines the price.
So when economies and networks mingle, bitcoin has a recipe for explosive growth in assets. Bitcoin is not a bubble like many people say. bitcoin is a remarkable advancement in accounting and currency.

Some people say bitcoin is like a bubble and it will burst one day.
Now current situation we can say its price is going down and down.
Is it true that bitcoin is like a bubble ?

I think bitcoin not like bubble, because the bitcoin price predicted increase continuously in 2018, but after reaching to peak it will drop down , and then stability. At this time, the bitcoin price is below 10,000$, you can buy and store it for a while to wait its price go back up.

That’s what I mean bitcoin is there for us more than 10 years how can we say that bitcoin is a bubble and it will get burst, if we look at the bitcoin performance we will get know that it is really great support for us so bitcoin has maintained its position from so long as bitcoin faced a lot of ups and downs but again it got the old place so bitcoin is a future it is reality that we can never neglect at any cost.

No certainly not! Bitcoin if the cryptocurrency that gave the green light to all the other altcoins. Yes, it is still new for some people although ix lives since 2009. Folks are usually scared of something new and do not accept it for long. Then they realize how wrong they were.

i ever make question like this on : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2484936.msg25443528#msg25443528 , and there people said that bitcoin not bubble just the price is volatile like up 20% in a sec and down 20% on another sec
i quote from someone post like this

" According to Wikipedia

"An economic bubble or asset bubble is trade in an asset at a price or price range that strongly exceeds the asset's intrinsic value."

So yes, the major concern of bitcoin being a bubble that went intense recently due to insane increase in bitcoin price is indeed justified. Thus, many are comparing it with the famous .com bubble.

But bitcoin is not a company that can fail. Bitcoin is not centralized that can be controlled or crunched by banks or governments. Bitcoin is providing a completely different outlook to financial landscape. I believe, to measure bitcoin growth using available economic indicators is wrong. Bitcoin is like a revolution that have given people monetary freedom from centralized institution (that a person would never have realized). Bitcoin might not be extensively being used as currency but people are parking their dollars in it to save their money from fiat inflation that we have seen recently in Zimbabwe. So, many have followed!

Bitcoin is certainly not a bubble! "

hope it can give you answer

I think this has already been discussed in a previous thread, if Bitcoin is a Bubble, it will be much more harmed than the profits, no problem can make sure Bitcoin is Bubble....

No one can tell you exactly what bitcoin is, and in recent years someone has always said that bitcoin may not last long. However, as of today, Bitcoin is still in development.

Encrypted currency is valuable only if it is recognized as a currency. However, cryptocurrencies can not be used for the most important transactions in the economy, and the supply of cryptocurrencies can only increase, not diminish, so that they can only be a poor storage of value. To date, the use of cryptocurrencies requires both the sale of assets and the purchase of goods or services.

Bitcoin for me is not a bubble, because if you blow a bubble it will burse then gone,it can't go back to to normal. Bitcoin is still bitcoin inspite of Bitcoin increasing and decreasing,hi  and low,ups and down and that is normal in the market because for me bitcoin is an asset which has supply and demand and it is volatile.

Nope.. Bitcoin is not and should not be called as a bubble.. From the first place if there’s no black propaganda and bad news that is circulating for ruining entirely the price of it.. And in the long run this will only fuel more inverstors that will be the reason of its recovery and that won’t take much time.. This decreases will be stop within this month and February surely be a new month..

Hi,

Actually, if you compare the trend curb of bitcoin with the curbs of other known bubbles... Similarities are quite striking!

So, yeah, if you consider the "economic model" bitcoin seems to be on the verge of a bursting bubble.

BUT the main difference here is that the bitcoin is not linked and has never been linked to anything tangible. The problem of classic economic bubble is when the value of something (tulips, houses) is no longer n line with what the "thing" sold is. Here... Well, bitcoin is 100% digital.

I am not saying it will not burst.  just say that theoretical models we already know may not apply here. Wink

Those who said that bitcoin is a bubble may not know or they don't understand the concept of the economic bubble, or they actually hate bitcoin and spread negative issues of bitcoin. I personally disagree that bitcoin is a bubble, the point is that something is traded at prices significantly higher than their intrinsic value is an economic bubble and I do not think bitcoin is included in the criteria, bitcoin has a value that makes people think to buy it. But if you say bitcoin is volatile I might agree with your opinion, bitcoin is still new and I believe the expert are trying their best to make it become more stable.

No, Bitcoin is not a bubble that will burst one day, it is only looking for its definite market value. As of now, Bitcoin's value is volatile. If Bitcoin found its median value then it will stay on it and if there will be a movement of value, it will not be this big as we see.

yes always we could see the price of bitcoin swing all the time in the market because it has a value that depends in the supply and demand of the consumers so we could already expect for the prices to swing in the market and like stock market we could always expect to the price of bitcoin to skyrocket in the coming years and also to go down also but i guess the bitcoin wee take a longer time to pump because a lot of governments are not agreed in bitcoin system.

Bitcoin is a decentralized currency. There is no mechanism of regulating the cryptocurrency market. It makes the whole cryptocurrency an easy target for speculators. So now bitcoin price is going down, but tomorrow it could just as easily go up. For me bitcoin is the idea of a free economy. It will always attract people. So there will always be the prospect of rising prices.

Recently, the value of Bitcoin is going down and down. Some altcoins like ETH, Ripple and etc have lost up to 50% of their value. Of-course, this leads to the question, are cryptocurrencies in a bubble? well this is not new, look at previous bubbles in history. http://www.hashtaginvesting.com/blog/is-cryptocurrency-a-bubble

Bitcoin is a digital currency in literal. Hmmm bubble? Yes I can say that bitcoin is bubble in some other ways like some bubbles are big and some are small. Like bitcoin some transactions are big as hell and some are just small nuisance, but bitcoin is not a bubble that will just burst out in one day. Because the foundation of bitcoin is strongly as steel. Yes, bitcoin are having many followers right now. This proves that bitcoin is not a easy to be destroyed like a bubble.

I am beginning to lose heart.  My friend said it is a bubble.  Because people put money in and the bubble grows.  Somebody else takes that money and makes a profit.  So the bubble shrinks.  And the first person loses out.

Many people say that bitcoin is like a bubble maybe because if you put your money on it and the price of bitcoin will fall your money can be gone anytime. But if you dont look at the negative side you will see how great to invest in bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the currency in the future, not the bubble as you say. Bitcoin's current price decreases due to the cryptocurrencies market being affected by news reports such as the government's ban on Bitcoin trading as well as on hackers who have seized the cryptos on the exchange floor. However, Bitcoin future, as well as cryptocurrencies, will ultimately replace fiat currencies in the next 10 years.

The phenomenon of bitcoin continues to be studied. Some economists try to explain that the crypto currency is a bubble in the market. Others argue for a new reality, so financiers should pay more attention to new investment tools.
A bubble is when the price of an asset does not depend on its "main factors" - investors value the asset to determine its value. It can be money that is transformed from stocks in the future, the company's cash flow, the state of the country's economy or even the rent for the property. But bitcoin does not calculate profits (from shares) or rent (from real estate) and is not tied to the national economy. This is one of the reasons why it is difficult to say about its value.

bitcoin is NOT a bubble, as i can see, bitcoin is in a correction stage at this time, from the last year (2017) sales, a huge growth/pump happened which is unnecessary. then all newbie/amateur holders/investors sell/withdraw their bitcoin because they see a biggest changed happened. profits are earned at that time, so in the end bitcoin price dropped for almost $10k which is necessary to happen. until now bitcoin cannot back to it self at all time price hike because of those dumpers before.

It is chance for all to get profit form bitcoin as invest today, you are right price of bitcoin will rise so high and people will get high profit. It is not like bubble but it is more than this as bitcoin is existing from so long it is not new currency now so it is increasing more and more in price with time I have notice that price rise and fall use to come  but for short time not forever. If price of bitcoin is low it will increase and rumors will keep saying that bitcoin is bubble.

Impossible to know for certain. But here’s the contrarian view:

If there is just a 1% chance that cryptocurrency is “the future of money,” then the entire sector is currently undervalued.

The global money supply currently stands at $90 T, so 1% is $900 B. The total market value of all cryptocurrencies is just under $270 B.

And, I personally believe there is a greater than 1% chance that crypto is the future of money. My gut tells me it’s closer to 20–30%.

Some people says the bitcoin is a bubble that once you invest your money is already lost but it's not true because bitcoin is a new digital

currency and it has an exchange rate price vs all other currencies. bitcoin is the fastest growing asset in the world this year, but the virtual

currency does not appear to have many users. Then bitcoin is also known as a cryptocurrency.

Yesterday I was asked again about the Bitcoin ‘bubble’ and for how long it can continue.

I love questions like this.

I spent the first decade of my career analysing, profiting from and getting mildly traumatised by wild swings in financial markets — especially swings based less on fact and reason than on raw human emotion.

There is no doubt that Bitcoin is currently in the final stage of a bubble (an “Elliott wave 5” to get technical).

Is it true that bitcoin is like a bubble ?

I cant say it is a bubble afterall. As what i have read in this forum, there is a post i want to share with you to clarify that bitcoin is not a bubble.

Time                   price per BTC     Importent information

July 2010             $0.08               The price grew 900% only In five days, rising from $0.008 to $0.08 for 1 bitcoin.
Feb – April 2011    $1.00               In that time Bitcoin took parity with US dollar.
8th July 2011        $31.00             At this time top of first "bubble", followed by the first price drop.
Dec 2011              $2.00               At this time goes minimum after few months (huge dump)
Jan 2012               $3.41
March 2012           $4.95               over 46,000 BTC stolen by Linode Hacked
July 2012               $13.31            Bitcoin Savings and trust halts payments.
Jan 2013              $13.31
Feb 2013              $20.22              Starts some pump.
July 2013              $100.15            great pump.
Jan 2014               $772                700% up within 6 months.
July 2014              $582                 Some down again.
Jan 2015               $272                 Huge down.
July 2015             $289.68
Jan 2016              $432.17             some up again.
July 2016             $688.50
Jan 2017             $1020.47           Starting golden age of bitcoin.
July 2017               $2592.41            proved a golden age.
18th Dec 2017        $19,498.63
Jan 2018                $10,685             Again huge down.

Then it is up to you to decide whether it is a bubble or not and try to study the history of bitcoin.

Of course it's not a bubble. It's just that just like any other currency it experiences difficulties. It's very hard for it to find a certain price because investors sell and buy in big quantities.

Derek Thompson, who covers economics for The Atlantic as a senior editor, notes it’s hard to determine if Bitcoin is a bubble because it’s an entire industry. However, he thinks Bitcoin's recent patterns are akin to other famous bubbles that burst — such as the dotcom bubble. Investors make huge life decisions based on Bitcoin worth, and they often make impressive predictions about what’ll happen in the future. People also made those actions in association with other things that went bust, leading individuals to caution history will repeat itself. They say the only thing they’re not certain about is when it’ll happen.

"Bitcoin is a" speculative mania, "according to the head of the Central Bank of Australia, but it's not so simple to say that the new height: the cost of bitcoin exceeded $ 17,000 New height: the cost of bitcoin exceeded $ 17,000. still do not know how to evaluate it.

When we say bubble, what comes to our mind is, it will burst and absolutely disappear. Some people say this rumor, but it is impossible and it can never be compared to bitcoin. Because as what we notice and winess. Bitcoin is created in 2009, and until now it did not burst as what they say.

expectation that the price of Bitcoins will continue to rise in the distant future has a lot to do with the belief of many people that Bitcoin, and other “cryptocurrencies”, are the money of the future. Nothing could be farther from the truth. In fact, the Bitcoin is an archaic currency like gold used to be.

When we say bubble, what comes to our mind is, it will burst and absolutely disappear.
Your definition of a bubble isn't correct. Every market can and will at some point move in bubble territory, which basically means that a market increases a lot within a certain time frame, basically without there being a solid reason for it aside from the speculative aspect, or a short term scarcity of whatever object/tool/property. Bursting just means that the market in question will fall back to more appropriate levels, and thus not disappear like you are saying. That might only be the case when it comes to certain scams, which at that point isn't a bursting bubble that makes them disappear, but them being busted.

Some people say this rumor, but it is impossible and it can never be compared to bitcoin.
I personally have only once considered Bitcoin to be in bubble territory, and that was in 2013 when I entered the market at around $25. I think it's safe to say that at this point, it can be seen as the only actual bubble we have been through. After that, I have only considered the market to be in overbought state, and that's really it.

Bitcoin is created in 2009, and until now it did not burst as what they say.

Bitcoin is not a bubble, because we know that bitcoin price is not stable sometimes it going up and down so you can't compare the bitcoin to bubble, i know that bitcoin price is going up and up again  it will burst and absolutely disappear. Some people say this rumor, but it is impossible and it can never be compared to bitcoin Because as what we notice and witness. Bitcoin is created in 2009, and until now it did not burst as what they say, so bitcoin is not like a bubbles anymore.

Now current situation we can say its price is going down and down.
Is it true that bitcoin is like a bubble ?
They do not really know about bitcoin. Bitcoin is not burst only because the price is down. It is part of volatility, which caused by traders who trade it everyday. Actually the volatility is not so bad for us. We can earn many profit  by play in volatility. Bitcoin has very big potential to replace paper money, so it is modern way for our daily transaction, it is not a bubble.

I think bitcoin is not a bubble because, the value of bitcoin also has some downs in it, and a bubble is always growing larger and larger, Folks are usually scared of something new and do not accept it for long.

Bitcoin is not a bubble. For the normal functioning of bitcoin, mining is required, which consumes a huge amount of electricity.
Thus, bitcoin is a separate industry, which so far no one fully understands. Especially the old gurus of the financial world.

I don't think so, Bitcoin has changed people's lives since it started 9 years ago, It has survived a lot of issues, banning and all the bad things they can throw. There are still a lot of people who are skeptical about it, some governments don't believe on it but it has accomplished a lot and proved these people wrong. Now with the fast growing numbers of enthusiasts, investors and users of it, I don't think we can still call Bitcoin just a bubble.

If bitcoin has serious drawbacks in its use and at the same time it grows in price much higher than other promising coins that have even comparatively better qualities, then one can unequivocally say that people buy bitcoin because of the fact that it previously brought a significant profit by raising its price. In this regard, it can be unequivocally said that bitcoin behaves like a classic financial bubble.

Not like bubbles, but rather the actual price formation in bitcoin. Because at least bitcoin takes up to 9 years to get the current price. Bitcoin better than bubble.

If the price is falling it does not mean that BITCOIN is loosing its position or as you are saying BITCOIN is a bubble.Falling of price in cryptocurrency market is a normal thing.Alteration of price is common to every cryptocurrency. Therefore there is nothing to worry about.

There is demand - bitcoin is growing, there is no demand - it is falling. Here the price creates the market. The market is not a  bubble. I think that most people are not accustomed to crypto currency.

Yes, I think that bitcoin is a bubble. However, if you think about it, then any bank can be a bubble. Also it is worth adding that the bubbles do not always have a property to burst ... so we will count on the fact that bitcoin will not burst.

stock market is a bubble do we persecute it ? , people loose millions on the stock market do we "villianise" it and encourage people to stay away from it as i see them Trying to do with bitcoins(with little success). Bitcoins are still very volatile because it has not" settled" because its still evolving but because of that very thing you can become a millionaire in a few days literally because as it becomes more and more rooted demand increases and once demand increases then the prices must also increase. to look on bitcoin as a bubble is really a simple minded way to view it and those who push this view obviously  know what it truly is and the potential it holds why else would they be going through so much to impress there opinion on the general populace .but let me play along and add this even if it is a bubble when the bitcoin bubble burst it creates new bubbles that then burst and creates new bubbles so in essence there will always be upward movement.

Okay, bitcoin dropped from almost 20K to 6K. So everyone says bitcoin is a bubble. When the price increased to 12K in just a few days, is it still a bubble then? This is the volatility we know as one of the usp's from bitcoin.

Bitcoin can not be a soap bubble! It grows due to the increase in capitalization and the great demand of investors! Everybody understands that the development of the crypto market and the development of bitcoin can not be stopped! We see very rapid and strong progress! By this I think until the market does not stand still, as long as people invest in crypto, bitcoin will never go down in price!

It is not a bubble. It is different than the average market. It did go up but it corrected itself. If it was a bubble it would have just tanked. The retracement was healthy and needed to happen for it to not be a bubble. It is still projected to get to new highs, many people anticipating this.

Well, I guess your right. It may really seem like a bubble when you think about it but even so, that really does not define what it really is. It simply is something more than what you can see and I pretty much think that a lot of people will really do agree with my point. And I guarantee you that most of them will be veterans in this field. Just saying.

When you look at a long-term graph of the Bitcoin price (I'm talking about 4+ years) you see clear bubbles and recoveries time and time again. So, even if this is a bubble it's going to recover and go up exponentially again after.

It depends on the market. Bitcoin is not actually a bubble as because it has some initial balance in it which is being fuelled by users like us. The Bitcoin price is not predicted randomly it is generated by the demand and supply in the market and the same goes for all the other altcoins. Suppose if someone text out like 1000 Bitcoin from the network then there is going to crash the price a lot maybe the price will become stable at $200 or $300. And as you know that every market has some spikes or sometimes the price gets frequently increase because of some rumors you can consider those moments as a bubble but Bitcoin is not a bubble.

Bitcoin becomes like a bubble when it grows too fast in price, as it was in December of last year, that is, when it grows in price almost at the expense of an agiotage speculative demand for it. If it grows slowly, it does not manifest itself. Therefore, the higher bitcoin rises in its value, the more cautious it is to be when investing in it.

But I do not think so, I think bitcoin is in trouble, the price of bitcoin is reduced but bitcoin is showing signs of recovery. Bitcoin has many benefits, more and more people use bitcoin. I think bitcoin is necessary in our lives.

People are considering Bitcoin as a bubble because there are too many investors investing in it and it makes a huge fluctuation when they're all withdrawing their money.
That situation will make a big change on the market and dropping from 20k$ to 10k$ in a month is a proof for it.

Yes maybe we can say that bitcoin is a bubble. Because we have seen dramatic increace in the price of Bitcoin and it broke $19000. So in a short time many people invested in bitcoin and then some whales sold their bitcoins. After that we have seen a big correction. But I think bubble will recover itself again. We have seen the same scenerio in 2013. If people use bitcoin in real life, there is no need to discuss about if it is a bubble or not.

If you are asking if Bitcoin is like a bubble, it's never a good because Bitcoin is a fast-rising currency, but it's a fast-rising currency, but moralizing and turning your Bitcoin into a bitch If you think Bitcoin is a bit more like a bubble, you're definitely going to get in the corner because Bitcoin is purely patience.

Instability and lack of regulation bitcoin does not allow banks to buy this currency. But with the development of new financial products their risk will decrease.

Well honestly, judging by how it has been moving for the past few months and how people has been seeing bitcoins lately, I pretty much think that  it cannot be something that we can call a bubble. But it really isn't. There are many reasons As to why or why not. But whatever the case is,  bubble isn't one of the word that best describes it.

Will definitely need to support Bitcoin as we need to positively view it's system and as form of currency on the market. Becasue support is one of the key for it to initially have development and improve its system. I think it is much more capable to improve and to have a better system if more people will trust and support Bitcoin.

While people perceive bitcoin as a speculative coin and go into an asset only to earn quick money, yes, it's a bubble! But when everyone in the world will feel its power and start measuring everything in bitcoins, and not in dollars and other fiat money, the stability of bitcoin prices will become permanent!

Nope. Bitcoins aren't bubbles. It is just volatile that a lot of people are still investing on it and riding the trends. But who knows, mayne this volatility is the behaviour of a bubble. I might be wrong to think that bitcoins aren't a form of a bubble. Anytime, it can pop if it's ripe and big enough to do so.

Bitcoin becomes like a bubble when it starts to rise too sharply in price because of the speculative speculative demand for it. This could be seen in December, when he quickly rose to a price of $ 20,000. After that, he fell in value so low. Now, when the price of bitcoin is relatively low, it does not pose any risk for investing. Only when bitcoin again inflates in the price plan, then it will represent a certain risk for investors.

Bubble for almost a decade?, I don't know if that still a valid argument. When Bitcoin was release, few are believing it technology, and by years comes, BTC gather more support from communities and business.

The only reason some says it was a bubble, because they cannot adapt technology, they are very traditional.

This is really hard to guess. If bitcoin goes up sharply, I'm really worried about this. But if it grows slowly until the end of the year, I think it's not a bubble. If on a nice day bitcoin price suddenly increased abnormally I am sure that I will sell out all what I have not dared to keep.

specifically, bubbles are just pop-out in just a moment. so how do bitcoin can compare into a bubble? after so many years of proof/proved/proven that bitcoin is not just like a bubble, this question always exist. the healthy price correction is not to indicate that bitcoin will soon to pop-out like a bubble. as a decentralized, bitcoin will not going to its end but to grow more, more people are continued supporting bitcoin and some of other country are adopting bitcoin so how bitcoin will pup-out?

Not all of the people are able to ride with the flow dude and some of them are techy enough to understand just the basics of bitcoin so some of them just think bitcoin is a big bubble and doesn't believe on what cryptocurrency can do in the future.

In my own perspective I think that Bitcoin is a bubble. But is is unlike any bubble we have seen so far as it can pop several times and still becomes a bubble. Even thought we have massive drops we see that Bitcoin can still see Bitcoin recover which only takes time before it tries to go to a new all time high. Hopefully Bitcoin will prove is wrong as every time it drops a thread like this is always created. So for you to have a peace of mind Bitcoin will still recover just hold it and don't worry too much.

No bitcoin will not get in touch to 1000$ again in the future. And you say the confirm transaction it takes hours or a weeks before it reach to the adress destination then you are wrong bitcoin now is more faster only the fee still not good for me but i know soon the devs will fux that in the future.
Bitcoin cash will move backward in the future since bitcoin atom (BCA) will surely goes up as a faster and cheaper and more easy to swap your coins and tokens with the use of atomic swap.

I think bitcoin is not a bubble, up and down the bitcoin price is a natural thing, we should think positively about bitcoin if we want bitcoin to flourish.
I think it's excessive to think of bitcoin like bubbles, if bubbles that one day will explode while I think bitcoin is like gold that one day will never run out.

The author of this topic is most likely a novice in the world of cryptocurrency. The market is very cyclical and over time one can notice how many good and bad news repeat. This depends mainly on the direction of the market movement. Therefore, do not believe everything that the media write.

I think no highest degree or popular people who invest bitcoin if this is like a buble. Because so many successful project who trust on bitcoin and as we can see those are people with degree and they can even post a picture and trust that bitcoin will have a good future not only them but for those who know what is bitcoin.

Do not listen to these so-called smart guys that compare Bitcoin with a bubble. Do not they see that BTC has been growing all the time and each year it becomes only more powerful? Probably they envy those ones, who have BTC coins.

Bitcoin is similar to a bubble for those who do not understand its technologies and what it was created for, what prospects it has, how it can be used and why it is afraid in large corruption structures and countries.

Yes i absolutely agreed. Bitcoin was built on a real technology ( the Blockchain tech) and actually it does have a lot of functions for us to work with.
So the real helpful thing will not be a bubble at all, eventually people are pumping the price too much.

Some people say bitcoin is like a bubble and it will burst one day.

Is it true that bitcoin is like a bubble ?

Bubble has different characteristics, and if we compare them to bitcoin we can conclude that:

Bubble has the ability to burst, just like bitcoin we can expect that bitcoin will be bursting its price someday, we do not know when but it will happen for sure. We just do not know when it will burst.

The other one is that when bubble burst, it will be gone, we can associate it to bitcoin that, bitcoin might gone or disappear in the future.

We can say that yes, bitcoin is like a bubble because of the possible outcomes that might happen.

Bitcoin is not a bubble. One of the main characteristics of the bubble is that is grows bigger and bigger uncontrolled and then pops - and goes to 0. Bitcoin have underwent many corrections, most of them in January and early February and after these correction which are healthy for the market a new slow growth should come. I believe that bitcoin will reach new ATH later this year and then will be slightly corrected again. Total marketcap of all coins aroun 800 billion is realistic in my opinion.

Comparing Bitcoin to a bubble which indicates fast changed or fast ending phasr is not so likely to happened. We could not hide the fact that Bitcoin price is volatile which could change drastically in time but it would not end it's system becasue of this such reason.

No it is not like a bubble it is like assets, and price frustration is normal for any asset. There were a lot of examples in history, when price of gold, oil and etc was going down or was growing, same is for bitcoin.

Actually, I’m not believing that bitcoin is like a bubble. Bitcoin is just being down because Bitcoin wanted to invest many people in his lowest price and bitcoin has the goal to be rise again and again. Bitcoin is now rising and it is a great one. It is the advantage of Bitcoin holders. They will get a lot pf profits on it.

For me, I think it can be like a bubble in some instance. Like when bubble float in the air there is a probability that it continuously goes up or suddenly down so its like a bitcoin's price that it is hard to know what will be its next move in can be increase in price or decrease, no one knows.

If you want to patiently wait and not panic, in one to two years into the future is arguably bitcoin will reach high prices and even higher than the price at the end of this year, it's just a matter of patient and willing to wait or not.

It is not bubble at all. You should have look at the history of bitcoin and other famous rather successful coins of the crypto market. it is normal for them to dump and pump. bitcoin will soon increase in prices unexpectedly over the short time period.

It's almost certainly a bubble. I think cryptocurrencies that we have today should still belong to laboratory instead of being unleashed to free market. One of the proof cryptocurrencies are not ready yet, is the extremely fluctuating value that solely driven by “demand” and “potential”, instead of real-world implementation.

Whatever! The problem is Bubble burst when the majority loses confidence, most of in crises time. It's true that, The vast majority still have confidence in real-world paper money. You maybe suffer from central bank rules and regulation, but true has bitcoin kept ahead of the curve, have proven their value.

for me bitcoin is like a wave because its price will rise and fall and it will depend on the people who invested on it and wait for the tsunami wave in terms of the negative and positive effect that you will never regret and accept your loss or success rather.

Perhaps those who call bitcoin a financial bubble are right. But finally we will know the truth, when the value of the technology embedded in this asset will not be confirmed.

No I don't believe that bitcoin is like bubble that it will burst one day but rather I believe that bitcoin is simply Luke a roller coaster it will go down but it will go up immediately. So don't worry about what happen with bitcoin right now because it will not be the end but it is just part of the market.

The strengthening is driven by an increase in the interest of retail and institutional investors who view the digital currency as a means of payment for the future and the means of storing asset value. Such legitimacy makes bitcoin harmful to investors.

Bitcoin has been referred to as a bubble for quite some time now. As the price rises drastically just like what happened last december where it reached a staggering 20,000$, people are quite skeptic that it will pop anytime soon. But that's bitcoin as it is very volatile.

It may be true, because the digital moneys are new for peoples and some people still don't want to believe it. And the price of Bitcoin is changeable a lot and it is the another reason for people's bad think.

yes it is the same, bubble conditions occur if the value of Bitcoin slumps along with other currencies with relatively equal numbers. Another factor in the decline in the value of Bitcoin is a change in investor preferences to buy cryptocurrencies of lesser value, such as Enthereum and Lite Coin.

Many people compare what's happening with cryptocurrencies with what happened with the tulip mania back in the day, but the biggest difference is that cryptocurrencies actually have some use while tulips are completely useless, so cryptocurrencies themselves are not a bubble but the price at which they trade can create bubbles because of the uneven demand coming from the public.

Bitcoin is not a bubble. Prices of cryptocurrencies are going down but definitely it will go up again as this is one of the characteristic of bitcoin. Bubble if burst is gone but bitcoin when price goes down, there is still bitcoin. Grin

Well if people think that way then let them be. It can be considered a bubble and that bubble has popped. Several times in the past already. But with the support btc enjoys and the potential it presents, it will keep inflating itself after it pops

Based on my research that I done for my paper in economics in school, what I found out is that there are two schools of thought. First is that Bitcoins or any cryptocurrency's fundamental value should be based on the cost of mining a unit of it. So this means you have to take into consideration the cost of the mining rig, the cost of electricity and other costs. If the current price is near that amount then it would mean it is not a bubble. The second school of thought is that the fundamental value is based on it's cash flow. Since bitcoins does not really have any form of cash flow then that means that they do not have any fundamental value.

Based on that, I would say that bitcoins should be based on the first school of thought. The second one is likely an old concept that should not be applied to something like bitcoins as it is quite new and unique which old concepts could not be applied to.

Yes exactly, once the price comes down and it takes a long time to recover, but once the price recovers then it crosses its previous high and then again losses value in a few weeks to months, now the bitcoin price is rising again and about to hit $10k so I think it will take only a few months to cross its previous all time high. And once bitcoin crosses all time high then it will only go upward to make a new all time high and there are many chances that it would not come back down in next few years.
