I think nobody experienced this kind of loosing all the money in crypto because the price will get low but it still have a value.At the same time holding your alts and hoping that the price will rise again is another way of not losing your money.Keep holding and have faith on your assets.

My cousin lost a lot of his investments and he was depressed for several months through it. Investing right now is not the best choice as well as selling your actives. Better simply keep everything you have and wait.

I was really close to invest some of my money into a couple of ICo but hopefully been too slow and lazy. The first time in my life laziness brought me any profit.

No,i dont really want to experience such losses, for me investing in a centrain coin has a lot to be considered first,you should know its not a pick and wait gaming,you will need to research the coin's background or the technology behind it,the product,whitepaper and short and long term plans,these are just basic things to be considered before you get involved with any coin.

Fortunately, the altcoin and ico projects I invested in did not go to zero value. That is the thing about investing in such altcoin, either it bring you lots of profits or lost the initial capital.

You mean he sold his coins at a more lower price than what he paid for it? It is really depressing and I can relate to that because I have few trades before that went losing due to being not patient enough and sold it when the price is going down.

At the moment, I think now is a good time to start buying credible coins that are going red because they really have potential to bounce back again.

Bounce back is the only chance for us to get another profit from the coins. For longterm and this is very bad at all. How people got scared caused by this big bearish. But i have secured all of my investment at peak.
People must have scared if they will see their cut lost will have jumped again to the moon.

loosing all your money is telling the people that you invested on a token that went 0 satoshi or 0 wei in the market? that never happened. there's always 1 sats left.
the thing that make all your money lost in just a single coin is investing on the ICO that turned out SCAM. and the developer run with all of your money.

I just wonder how many members here who have invested to any altcoins and ended losing all of their money because the coin has no longer value or not operating anymore.

This is different from trading and losing the trade but the coin is still in the market - this is something more devastating because the coin you are investing died on its natural death (or should I say, some of the coin developers run away with your money)

Note: The reason I ask this because I hope it would serve as a WARNING. I don't want to see any members investing to ICO's and some existing coins and ended up losing their money. Do lots of deep research before making your next investment.

Wow, there's a whole cemetery here. But I do not think that this has any significance. There is such a thing as the market index and capitalization. Unsuccessful projects die - this is typical of all areas of human activity. But the general indicators are growing. On this we should be guided.

Yes I have, back when I was a noob, I did a very stupid thing and lost $15,000 or so that I was going to invest into the Ethereum ICO. It has cost me tremendously, makes it hard to even see the Ethereum logo, or hear someone randomly mention it. Having to go to coin marketcap on a daily basis is stressful because of of Eth. And even though I'm currently in a better position than most, the drive that it has created is such that I won't stop until I make over a hundred million or something. Sure that will probably never happen, but such is the drive it creates. Imagine being involved in crypto and every time you come across the the Ehtereum logo it creates a horrible feeling. Because of the experience I also get horrible feeling with the idea that so many people have lost money buying Bitcoin at an all time high. Losing their house, credit card interest, and so on.

I probably not very lucky with buying coins)) As an example, I bought litecoins when it cost about 25$, so I was waiting, waiting, waiting and the coin didn't  go up)) So, I sold it. Next day, maybe the day after the next day, but it jump up to 45$ approximately) Again, I bought it and began to wait, I guess, I was not patient, so I sold it again   Of, course, after that, it went up to 90$ +-
I decided not to waste my time to this coin, so invested in bitcoin. Here  I was more luckier, maybe more patient and was rewarded with a good profit in December  

But I do not give up, I am still interested in this subject.

Because of the bitcoin's instability (there are so many different "expert "opinions about it, but nobody really knows what will be with it tomorrow, imo) I've decided to try my my luck again and to take a look for other alts.
That's why I came to this forum, to get more info, to learn more about it. Who knows, maybe I find something interesting to invest in it))

Exactly, I concur. There is always a high tendency of losing all your money when investing in ICO, this is why most bitcoin enthusiasts prefer sticking only to bitcoin and not having any thing to do with ICOs except some listed altcoins in cap market sites or in some exchange like Bittrex and co. But as we know crypto investment is all about taking risk. Do your research and don't put in money you dont want to loss.

Yes in the early years of ICOs I got ripped off when the company decided after they got user's funds to change the amount of coins you received after the fact. I remember I was livid and then when the coins hit the exchange they also decided to list the coin cheaper than the starting point of what they were supposedly making investors pay per coin. It was an absolute nightmare. I never hated ICOs more and after that. Once my country became blocked I wasn't allowed to join even if I wanted to.

Funny that my country is blocked from most ICOs even the ones started in my own country, I find that about 85% of the coins end up cheaper once they hit the exchange anyways usually dumped by the earliest of investors.

Other issues tend to be that the exchange the ICOs stated they would be listed on change mid campaign which usually means only a small portion of investors will be able to trade that particular coin on that particular exchange. They either have to wait until it gets listed elsewhere which could take months or years leaving them trapped with a coin that may never have it's original value when they bought in.

The only ICO that I would truly recommend as in personally to friends would be one with a low coin supply, visible team, visible roadmap and something that would really take off because of it's user case model.

Keep in mind when most companies or groups do ICOs they're asking for you the person to give their coin value. The value is given based on how much money is GIVEN TO THEM. Once that happens then it's pretty much crossing your fingers and hope they live up to their end in making sure that this value holds or rises. That's really all that's to it. The other element is value based on the members that bought the majority of coins. It's the same with bitcoin. If there are massive sell off from the people that have the most of it then the coin will drop in value and fast.

So if you ever see a coin's pricing tanking in value it's usually because the person that owned the most coin decided to dump it on the exchange. If you see a coin rising in price it's because the largest investors are holding the line and only allowing a few small low buy in's but closing that gap up right away. People eventually get it and will buy in before the price climbs way out of their reach.

You can pretty much read telegram chats where people are instructing others to dump their coins so that they can buy in cheaper but if they do that's usually what destroy's the coins value for days. If they don't and just hodl then people are either going to get on the train and ride it up or not get in at all.

I've watched two coins that rose drastically within hours. Sure they had their initial dump on the exchange but it shot up in price mainly because people jumped to buy in and jumped over each other just to get their hands on these coins.

Keep in mind that the companies already made their monies on the btc/eth/ltc that investors gave them from the start of the ICO so it doesn't really hurt them too much if you dump. You're the one loosing money not them.
