That person later went on to steal some money from me, so I now distrust all UFO evangelists by extension, so I wouldn't place a bet with you holding the money (you might be him, for all I know), but I would definitely place a bet against that event if someone I trusted was holding the money.
No offense, but that's like saying a black guy stole your money so you distrust all black people.
Not exactly, you're born black and don't have any control over it, whereas ideology and beliefs are something you adopt.

BS.  Circular objects with wings (to describe flight) have been found from ancient cultures world wide and several religious texts describe exactly what we now know as UFO's.  Christopher Columbus saw one:
Quote
October 11, 1492, Columbus thought he saw "a light glimmering at a great distance." He hurriedly summoned Pedro Gutierrez, "a gentleman of the king's bedchamber," who also saw the light. After a short time it vanished, only to reappear several times during the night, each time dancing up and down "in sudden and passig gleams." The light, first seen four hours before land was sighted, was never explained."

I am open to looking at any evidence and you have provided an example, your quote from Columbus. Since that quote was made the night before sighting land. I am inclined to believe he saw people's campfires or the fires they used for fishing at night. I cant understand how seeing a flickering light leads logically to aliens from another world.

I hope we do find life elsewhere. It would be science's greatest achievement to land a robot on a comet and bring back some thing we have to call living.  Particularly if that "life" is not DNA based. If that were the case I would assume life is common in the Universe. But I hope they don't come here. I think it would be a grave danger.

A flickering light moving all over the sky?  There's really nothing but a UFO to describe that and it matches many UFO reports today.  If I'm not mistaken this happened near the edge of the Bermuda Triangle.

Here is what it actually says:
Quote
A sailor called Rodrigo de Traina saw this land first, although the Admiral at 10 o'clock at night being in the stern forecastle {castillo de popa} saw a light, but it was so concealed that he would not declare it to be land: but he called Pero Gutierrez Groom of the Chamber of the King, and said to him that it appeared to be a light, and asked him to look at it: and he did so and saw it. He also told Rodrigo Sanchez de Segovia, whom the King and Queen sent with the fleet as Inspector, who saw nothing because he was not where he could see it. After the Admiral told it, it was seen once or twice, and it was like a small wax candle which rose and fell, which hardly appeared to be an indication of land. But the Admiral was certain that they were near land.

So no mention of the light being in the sky. They correctly thought it was fires on shore. As far as the Bermuda triangle... Stop using the history channel as a primary source.
P.S if you read Spanish you can see that the original log is even more clear.

To have a bet like this you have to agree on what constitutes "aliens visiting the earth". If the next UFO sighting satisfies the condition of "aliens visiting the Earth", I'd assign that much different odds than if "aliens visiting the earth" means that something that's unambiguously a spaceship lands, things get out of it that are obviously sentient and from another world, lots of people see both the ship and its crew up close, and this fact is well-documented enough that it can't be a hoax.

That said, the NEO "1991 VG" may be an alien probe, and it will be making a pass at Earth in 2017. I would count the discovery of an alien artifact just as significant as a visit by actual aliens.

Ah, you must be a dolphin or perhaps an ant?
