Ok I'm almost done with a program where it calculates the megahash per minimum server cost of any given card. The program uses a text file called data.txt that stores information in this format:
#5830
256
311
345
#5850
280
370
430
#5870
313
440
490
or
card
average megahash no overclock
normal overclock
highest possible overclock
I also added a feature where it stores the best five card you have put through the program in a file called records.txt. It is stored in this format:
1.526452732-5870-190.0
1.49339735894-5830-110.0
1.40550807217-5850-165.0
1.36254107338-5830-130.0
or
megahash ratio - card - cost
All that is required by the user is the card they want to check and the price of the card and it will display this in command prompt. (btw its a 5830 @ $110)
The bare minimum server:
$30 -cpu
$10 -ram
$150 -psu
$140 -mobo
$15 -hdd
$48 -4x(PCIe x16 Extender Cable)
$440.0 -4x5830
total=$833.0
(311*4)/833.0=1.49339735894 megahash per dollar
I figured that having two different files one for the megahash per card and one for the records allows for the user to easily customize if something changes. My question to you guys is would anyone actually be interested if I released this publicly and if so is there any features you might want me to include or change?
Thanks for your input
