Ethereum has the potential to surpass Bitcoin’s market cap this year.
In order to do this, they need to fix scalability issues and reduce energy usage.
A so-called “flippening” of the market caps could act as a catalyst for Ethereum.
What do you mean high energy usage of etherium? Is it the gas? Well, the marketcap of bitcoin maybe could be easier to defeat but not the price. The price of bitcoin is still the king for long time later. |

Totally agree. ETH is a new technology can really change the world, not like BTC which is only a memory in people's mind in the future. So please invest ETH more than BTC, you will get bigger returns.

It's hard to compare the total amount of ether with the BTC!
This means that ETH will fall behind BTC in price.
And it's not as good as bitcoin, which means that bitcoin is safer than it is.

Maybe in the future? As you can see that gap of the price is so big and maybe we can say that eth having a good platform that can gains attention of all investor however eth can't beat the popularity of bitcoin for now. Bitcoin is the king and eth would be prince for now.

Hello everybody! Perhaps in a short time Ethereum will become the king of crypto, but only after bitcoin has completely depreciated, and it most likely will not, well, in the blissful time for sure! But Ethereum and so all are satisfied, it grows in price and is in great demand, so everything will be fine!

Ethereum has a future but for now bitcoin is in top right now we cannot argue the fact that bitcoin is most common used in any transaction nowadays. Based from what i heard ethereum has the potential to surpass Bitcoin in the future but for now bitcoins value is better than the other cryptocurrency. Ethereum is in good price and still increasing, but it is to risky for us to invest. Bitcoin is the leader of all coins and lets hope that its value will increase more. In any case, Ethereum still has a lot to grow compare to bitcoin.

The surge in ETH could just be the beginning if most corporations adopt Ethereum as the distributed ledger standard. ETH has developed very, very quickly, which is what has driven ethereum’s price growth, which has actually been much more aggressive than bitcoin...and it's quadrupled its share, which now represents more than a quarter of the pie. Many think it will bypass the market cap of bitcoin by the end of the year, but who's to say?  |

Its a far stretch yet to imagine or foresee ethereum as the new king of crypto. Bitcoin is still the unmatched leader, the preferred favorite coin of most investors entering crypto, so backed strongly by personal interest and investment both.

I dont think that Ethereum will be king of crypto. As u know everybody know who is the KING of course Bitcoin, everything is measured with btc and btc started this revulution and always most famous and biggest coin will be BTC.

ETH never replaces bitcoin, because bitcoin is the most important coin. New people come to crypto in order to buy bitcoin, not ETH. Bitcoin is much more popular.

It will not dethrone Bitcoin. Unless it is a coin with the greatest future, it is still an altcoin. It won't replace the "father" coin ever. and actually they are absolutely different and not irreplaceable.

The fact is that you are a little mistaken about eth, because it is the etherium that is the spiritual foundation for many ico companies. And Bitcoin only as a pioneer in the world of crypto-currencies. |

It's hard to say for sure. BTC currently has a higher cash value compared to ETH, and it is expected to grow to 600% by 2020. According to some experts, Bitcoin's decentralization also played a role in determining the appreciation of the currency and makes it a safer investment tool.

I think you are absolutely right. Bitcoin will always be on top, no matter what. As much as I respect and support Ethereum, I have to say Ethereum is not match to Bitcoin. |

Ethereum is good cryptocurrency. He will make us rich in the future. Altcoins can give us a profit of 100-1000 fold. But we need several years to wait and be patient because the price of cryptocurrency will always increase and decrease over time.

Unfortunately I don't think Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin in Market cap this year. Ethereum definitely has a lot more utility value, so in that way I'd argue that Ethereum has already dethroned Bitcoin.

Ethereum has managed to swim against the tide and emerged as the new boss of the crypto community. Since the price fall of all cryptocurrency coins Ethereum has partially manage it stability in price and I believe with time it will make rich in future. Never the less I don't think Ethereum will over come Bitcoin no matter what despite cryptocurrency price is unpredictable Bitcoin still remains the king of CRYPTO.
