Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Please allow me to say masturbation applied more effort. What the point? Let us enjoy this merit system in doing more efforts of reading and helping the good flow of discussion. Then let us apply the force to make high quality post, if possible do it regularly to have more chance to get merit. Merited or not, just let it go and move on, make it more better while enjoying to give contribution. At the end be satisfied by the result whether you receive or not.

Luck, English ability, and what kind people are browsing. I do not have all of the above. Yes, it is all about luck and English, and not about Content. Keep telling yourself that. If you really want Merit, provide value to the thread or discussion. Stop telling yourself it is because of your English or luck or that people don't care about your topic. Yes, they won't care if you just post derivative drivel. Point me, right now, to 5 of your most constructive posts that you think deserve Merit. I'll review them independent of your English ability. I understand there are some here who are more insistent on English ability and such, but that's a minority. Most people care about getting value from discussions here. Are you providing that?

It is not easy. You have to find a right angle to publish good and solid post, instead of posting bad stuff.

The most important things to do to get merit points is reading. There have been a lot of this thread nowadays and you might find all the information in the official merit thread made by Theymos, and you can even make a strategy based on people statistic on when and where merit is given. It is not a hard thing to do, just search and read.

What is your mother tongue ? You can participate in respective local board. Lots of merits are being sent in local boards as well like Russia. Regarding the unfortunate things that happened to you, I feel sad to hear them. Hope God gives you enough strength to face all this. I am sure that you will do good even if you are just tenth pass. There are many great people with limited education qualification who did well in their life like Sachin Tendulkar.

As far as I know, we just need to improve how our posts can be useful for other members and have the nature of education or information good and new ,, Dont think that you can earn merits by spreading information be it legit or fake. You need to post quality content and not the same thing that the person above you posted. Previous with Activity we can go up rank, now added a new rule in the presence of merit ,, Forget about those days. If you are here to rank up - means you are here to shitpost to get paid. The sole reason merit was introduced was to stop these people. The presence of merit may want to show the quality of the Bitcointalk forum, so not much spam etc ,, You have no idea of the amount of spam that happens in the bounty sections. In this forum can share knowledge and even share solutions ,, How do you think, how to get better merit ? You just answered your own question. Even in a thousand year i won't get even a single merit point, new to crypto and also don't forget about my education background! ten passed and my parents got divorced, if i'm given a chance to use my mother tongue, i could've given a good quality post! Anyway m happy as i am in this community.
If you are sure you wont get any merit then why are you still hanging around in this forum? What does this even have to do with your personal life? Dont hope that people are going to be generous listening to your sob stories/half truths and grant you some merits in return.

I think that it is very hard for a new member to create high-quality posts. Especially if you a new person in cryptocurrency world. You have a lot of work to upgrade your account.

As I learn and read posts in the forum, these are my recommendatios:
The definition of Quality Post is subjective
One member may find your post as "quality post" then will give you a merit while other members may just engage you with a discussion without giving any merit. Hence, I would like to suggest that just make it a habit to post something substantial and always (yes, always) be mindful of the rules of the forum. Prevent yourself to be part of the ignored list of the merit sources.
Start Small
Just start small. You can start on the things that you know or your experiences that you want to share. I know that being a newbie, it feels like we cannot contribute anything in the forum because we have just little knowledge compare to the veterans. However, I think some members would like to hear your stories of success, failures, learning, and not learning, and the like. You can also post topic that interests you, in that way you can provide good insights by using your passion on the subject as the motivation/fuel to make a good post.
Start with "Beginners & Help" Category
You can start posting in the Beginners & Help category for you to ask questions and to be familiar with the forum. It is advisable also that the target audience of your first posts are newbies (in relation with the previous point "Start Small").

I think that it is very hard for a new member to create high-quality posts. Especially if you a new person in cryptocurrency world. You have a lot of work to upgrade your account.
That statement shows why new members are finding it hard to get merits ( note that I used 'get' rather than 'earn' ) If you changed the last sentence to "You have a lot of work to learn about the crypto economy". Then the application of that statement will lead to the acquisition of merits. For example, I started a thread about running a Bitcoin node, and it was created to try to award new members with merits. The thread is here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4547523.0It hasn't received one reply. I can understand that many newbies will not have a computer that is suitable for running a node, but there must be a few who could start one. Many will disagree with me, but I don't think you can gain a deep understanding of Bitcoin without running a node, even if it is 'just' a pruned one.

It's simple but need time. Writing constructive, creative, high-quality posts, then you will get merits sooner or later. The most important things is be helpful in the forum to help others solve their problems, or at least give them hints, links for more details, etc. Furthermore, merits will be given for high quality posts, but it's also a game of probability. Therefore, you should not pay too much attention on merits, just keep being helpful, you will get merits in the future for sure. Don't worry about merit points.
Steps:
1. Pick a topic.
Picking a topic to post on to may be the hardest part in the guide but any topic of your choice will do! I usually pick topics that are fresh(post that have few views and replies). Why? Because it would be an advantage if you answered the topic first, there would be no restraints and you can freely say what you want to say. Replying to the thread would be like a plain canvas waiting for unlimited possibilities. Picking an old topic is not quite bad either, especially if the topic is really interesting, but replies would be limited since most of the ideas are already laid off, including what you may be thinking and if this is the case, better not reply anymore and just pick another topic since this would just cause spamming of threads.
In addition, if you picked a fresh topic, people who are viewing the thread will see your reply on top plus it won't be burried with tons of incoming replies. Thus, giving your post a safe and sweet spot for any credit-giver.
2. Know the topic.
Question: Do you know the topic? If yes: Good! Proceed to step 3. If no: Research on the topic or go back to step 1.
Researching about the topic doesn't just mean reading an article or two, it can also be(but not required) watching videos about the topic or viewing some infographic about it. Anything goes as long as you understand and learn something new. If you think you're knowledgable enough to answer then proceed to step 3.
3. Answer the topic.
After researching, with your own words, try to answer the topic. Remember that answers may be short or long, it need not to be technical nor scientific. It just need to be clear, concise, and most of all sensible for everyone to understand. And don't even think about plagiarizing an article saying that you've made a good post, because people read, and if people noticed that you just copy/pasted an article then be ready for the consequences. Are you really trying to risk your account for some merits? Merits can be earned anytime but activities, reputation, and trusts takes time.
Now that you have answered the topic, be confident on what you have wrote and try not to think much about receiving merits. Continue on doing quality posts and im sure, little by little, people would notice and reward you for that. That would be all, thank you and godspeed!

Don't run behind merit. If you post quality post which will increase knowledge of forum or you help this form as answering of questions asked here, automatically you will get merit.

Another point, which maybe more important for forum's newcomers is learning how to use Search Function of BT forum. Here is link for them: [Tips] Guide for forum search The most important things to do to get merit points is reading.
Exactly! There are dozens of available helpful topics/ threads which can help newcomers get answers for their issues without need to create new topics/ threads. There have been a lot of this thread nowadays and you might find all the information in the official merit thread made by Theymos, and you can even make a strategy based on people statistic on when and where merit is given. It is not a hard thing to do, just search and read.
Additionally, there is another important recommendation for newcomers: 'Stop composing and publishing threads all the time'. Reducing number of threads published by themselves will increase the odds of receiving merits.
