The merit system is not working, look the merit points of people on the forum, it does not move (even for the more relevant posts), the forum established a system which was suppose to penalize newcomers flooding the forum with useless post, but the forum penalize itself, good luck everybody, If you think people will give you merit points for free you are mistaken.

well, that just a new system.. too fast if u judge merit failed. we just dont know what is a criteria a good comment as merit need, that the problem. we think our comment was good, but maybe its not count as good comment in merit system.

Too early to say that, sweetie. Some people are giving merit but, yeah, a little number.

p.s.
If you think people will give you merit points for free you are mistaken.

The whole point of merit is giving somebody merit for quality content, not for free.

number of merit is a prove of your work on forum. I do believe people will give it to you if you make a good content of post that usefull for community.

And what you wrote here is a good example of a shitty 3rd world post by someone trying to write in a language they don't really know.  What's the purpose of you writing this?  It contributes nothing, even if you wrote it perfectly--which you very much didn't.  Stick to the local boards.  You're never going to get merit points by writing such drivel.  You're the whole reason the merit system was created, IMO.

Stop kidding and spamming the forum, bro. You will get nothing from spamming after the launch of Merit system. In fact, the system has performed perfectly at least in the objective of controlling ranking-up progresses of spammers

To clarify, only constructive users can get Merit points from others. Please stop complaining, starting to contribute in order to earn Merits you eagerly wanted.

You are right, not all the quality posts are being recognized by most of the people here in forum, the merit system will fail and im sure theymos would do something about this,as he promised he will adjust this when most of the new folks find it hard to get merits. The only good thing about the merit system is,most of the spammers lately are being forced to post quality contents for them to get some merit points.
Gaining merits are supposedly hard, if gaining merits would be easy then the mods' preventive measures for spammers and rank farmers would be negated. Yes it is hard but it's not impossible. Plus the "only good thing" you said is a huge improvement for the members as well as the forum.

The merit system is better working than red trust color overall in the forum. There are many nice and helpful threads written by all ranks. If I were able, I would have distributed already thousends of merits to newbies, legendaries and all between them.
There is rarely a harm without benefit. That way I can save a lot of reading work. Smiley So I do not envy the sources.

Maybe something like a star or some kind of mark somewhere in the post or near the name of that reply, so you know it's a quality post. Something like that would be nice if you're scrolling through the spam. Yeah, I'm giving out 1-2 merit points (so I can distribute it more among users) to show that it's there and to remind people about it.

Need some spare btc for a new PC that can at least run Adobe Dreamweaver.

That is a great idea. Maybe you could also suggest that in the main merit thread.
But we need a sophisticated system to point out the right merited posts...... Seems to be difficult to me, the longer I am thinking about it.

For now I see some positive and negative aspects of this system. There is definitely less meaningless posts around but at the same time there are more meaningless threads. This is primarily due to the fact that people see that OPs receive more merit points. But I think this phenomenon will disappear soon.

If you againts by the decision of theymos and what should do best things for this forums just it for in arrangement for goodness and safest of member on scammers and spammers that making shitpost and topic that not related on bitcoin and crypto discussions.Dont be imagine it is bad,If i have 100 merit and i send what i can like post with good and being constructive i should decrease my merit and no problem on me because we are new and inspired to post with quality and back again merit while you make a perfect or have quality or fully knowledge criteria and dont go for rushing time to take rank and activity,Being obedient and respectfull is needed in this forum and not for personally intentions or needed.

I agree.  Finally DT members can get positive recognition for something, instead of just receiving complaints about negative trust.

I like the new merit system, and I think over time it will really help the forum.

You are being a judge in your own court.

The merit system is working. I started to work on my post quality when I read this post. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2828892.0. You too go and read and see how you can improve too.

Complaining will not remove the merit system.

50 merits for the OP !!! In my opinion that is a pretty obvious indication that it isn't working. There are many far better guides than that.

the merit system is working fine my friends but if you have 10 merits, your merit number is now 1. so; you can only send 1 score to other people.

I don't have anything against the merit system ,yes it is good but my point is will a junior member that post constructively stay as a junior member for 1 to 2 years on this forum if he don't get any one to give him merit point? Will this same junior member reach a post of 1000 post and still be a a junior member while a hero member who achieved the same 1000 post results some year back be the same rank? The merit system is going make rank irrelevant. Imagine junior member, Activity 1000 and Hero member activity 1000. Thats it make sense?

I do to and I'm also glad that I don't have to neg the garbage posters, which is something I felt was necessary before the introduction of the merit system.   That was not a great use of the trust system, I'll admit, but the outcome was positive overall.   And the sheer number of topics being created by noob shitposters complaining about merits attests to the new system's success.  I'm definitely satisfied with it.

I've not seen many merit posts being given out on general threads across the board. I know it's happening somewhere, but I've been keeping an eye out and it's not as common as I feel it should be given the requirements to rank up.

It's still early days and maybe people get used to it, but early impressions are that it's not quite balanced correctly.

Im so sick of people who got their merit for free, talking about how its perfect! There are a lot of us who got trown under a train just because we got here a week or a month later! But 99% of you who talk how its good and bla bla bla didnt have to post anything else but bounties and you got full bags of merit for free and now preach us about constructive posts!!!
