can anyone help me with a stupid mistake!! heres what i have done in a nut shell:
I deposited some BTC from my main wallet on my computer to BTC-E to purchase some PPC and everything worked fine. I then decided to deposit some more BTC into my BTC-E account and accidently selected deposit TRC (as this is what i was going to purchase) to generate an address to send my BTC to from my main wallet. The BTC has left my wallet and hasn't appeared in my BTC-E account as I sent BTC to a TRC address by mistake instead of sending it to BTC address like the first transaction.
Dose anyone have any idea where the coin has gone. Any info appreciated

You've sent your Bitcoins to a valid address, but you don't have the private key to that address.
If you could get them back there, it would mean that the crypto-protection of Bitcoin is broken.

But as most Altcoins are simple copy&paste of Bitcoin code, the private key might be generated the same way (-> same private key as for the Bitcoin address) and you could try asking BTC-E, if they have access.

I am not sure, but I think that you can contact BTC-E and explain them the problem.
They might be able to help (because they have the private key).

Sorry to break it to you, but there is no way of getting them back.
You've sent your Bitcoins to a valid address, but you don't have the private key to that address.
If you could get them back there, it would mean that the crypto-protection of Bitcoin is broken.

There is no way of a refund unless you contact the admin of BTC-e and they'll see what they can do, IDK but they might manually credit you.

This. BTC-E can manually credit you the 1 BTC as they have the private key.

Did you explain that you sent it to a TRC address and that they got the private key?
Point the link of this thread... Explain your problem more clearly.

After yet another email to BTC-E, I'm left with them telling me there is no way of them refunding my BTC. I'm still struggling to understand that I sent BTC to them, but stupidly sent it to the TRC address as this is what I intended to trade my BTC for. So as a company, they have received my BTC and are refusing to credit my account with the sent BTC. This all seems wrong to me. If there is anyone how can offer any help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

The solution is simple. BTC-e imports the private key for the TRC address into their BTC wallet. Then, they can access the BTC that you sent.

As marcovaldo pointed out, somebody else did the same thing, accidentally sending BTC to a TRC address on BTC-e. Either BTC-e doesn't remember, or they don't want to deal with it. Here is the thread and post where BTC-e says that they fixed the other user's problem:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=180518.msg1909763#msg1909763

As for what happened your bitcoins, they were sent to the BTC address that you specified because TRC addresses are valid BTC addresses. You can see the transaction in the block chain. The good news is that the private keys are the same, too.
