I got this link from a friend: https://safello.com/
Anyone know anything about them?
They seem to have office in Stockholm, Sweden.

In a way I am, yes.
Although I have nothing to gain from it, since I have nothing to do with them.

Hi there,

Frank Schuil here, CEO & Co-founder of Safello.

We will open soon @Roland68, but your sarcasm is appreciated and understood Wink Our company has this week gotten approval from one of the largest banks in Sweden and so far there has not been any objection from Swedish FI (financial inspection).

Whether we can live up to our slogan we'll have to see, but we will do whatever we can to do so.

If any of you want to meet us, please come visit us at the meetup we're organizing in Stockholm together with Stockholm School of Economic sponsored by Stanford Alumni Club: http://www.meetup.com/safello/. We might be able to set up a livestream for the event as well, so we can take on questions through Twitter.

Kind regards,

Frank Schuil

Hi all,

As promised, we just launched our first version of Safello.com (http://www.safello.com) and have started processing orders as of Friday. Currently we only accept Swedish krona (SEK), but we are in the process of getting approval to add Euros.

Some features you may enjoy:
- Real-time quote of your SEK to BTC value before purchase
- Transparent breakdown of cost structure: BTC value, fee and VAT
- Automatic receipts for your bookkeeping
- Regulatory compliance to improve the reliability and durability of our service

Here is a direct link to the buying page: https://safello.com/en/buy.xhtml
Here is a direct link to our team page: https://safello.com/en/team.xhtml
You can change the language of our website on the top right above the menu.

@Roland68: I hope you stand corrected on the "they will not open soon part" Wink

If you have any questions or run into problems signing up or with your order let us know via support@safello.com, www.twitter.com/SafelloAB or on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Safello.

Looking forward to your feedback!

Kind regards,
Frank Schuil

@prophetx: the VAT is included in that 9%, so it's actually 7.2%. Legally we are required to add VAT, we'll rephrase that so its more clear. Having said that, what would be a percentage that would change your opinion on this?

it sounded like you were charging VAT on the price of BTC, not the service charge, if that is the case it should be rewritten.

but given that i can easily do a sepa transfer to btce or bitstamp, i do not understand why anyone would use your service at 9% when their trading fees are more like .5%

@prophettx: thanks for elaborating. In fact we are NOT putting VAT on the bitcoins, only on the service charge. We will rewrite it to make that more clear.

As for the charge itself, we operate faster than those exchanges you mention in terms of time from money leaving your account to bitcoins in hand. Keep in mind normal international transfers cost money and take time, usually a couple of days. By using local bank transfers in Sweden we can minimize transfer cost and optimize delivery time. And that time advantage can count with bitcoins current market volatility. That is not to say we aren't sensitive to complaints and will monitor how receptive customers are to our fee structure.
