Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

... Is xDeathwing a sock?
How is someone here for less than 6 months a staff member?
how is any of this related to xDeathwing's scam accusation?

wait what? did xDeathwing send any bitcoins at all?

No, the OP (B!Z) said that he had pm'ed xDeathwing and he said that he would send it "tomorrow" but never sent it...
Thank you for clarification

Cause he is very young account time and being staff without proving themselves can be used to scam just like in this case. People could think he is validated as a good member cause of the staff tag.

Well, assuming XDeathwing is guilty of owing the .50 BTC, it was essentially a bounty. Its not often that people put bounties into escrow or anything, so had XDeathwing not been staff, it would be the same situation, someone who reneged on a bounty.

As for how long XDeathwing was a member, they are a local mod on the Turkish Board. If they speak Turkish and reported a lot of posts accurately they could have got the position. However, you are right the staff tag does give a bit of credibility just because of the title, the same way that hero member used to. But I don't think going back on your promise about a bounty is something that people do intentionally if they have something to lose, so I'll be watching for progress when XDeathwing logs on.

Just happened to look at his post history from this thread and noticed he almost never posts more than a sentence. If a sock, it'd be useful to know the other account. I figured it might be possible someone has that info, so just threw it out there. It's arguably off-topic, so I wouldn't fuss at all about it being removed. It'd make me consider you a little more suspicious, though.  Tongue

I am very actually surprised that a staff member would scam over 0.05 (or 0.5 BTC). I previously believed there was some sort of background check before hiring a new staff member.

The post where he promised to send 0.05 BTC, as well as the "i will send it tomorrow" are more than enough proof that he should be labeled as a scammer.

There isn't a formal process, but of course, if you have had past issues, your chances of becoming staff are slim. Also, my sentiments exactly, which in the face of uncertainty, leads me to believe this is probably a misunderstanding. If a staff member wanted to pull a scam, I'm sure they could do better than not following through on a .50 or .05 BTC promise. Which is why I'm having a hard time believing that XDeathwing intentionally scammed anyone out of $6 or $60. Either way, their reputation is worth more than that.

The first one i wrote was a joke(actually a keyboard slip but lets say joke) (0.5 BTC One edited after that.) then i took it serious and changed it to 0.05. I know b!z sent me a PM and i answered him, i told him I'll pay tomorrow but i completely forgot that, so my fault.

And i don't see a "SCAM" in this situation, there is no item or anything transfered...

I just told that i can give BTC. It's not a emergency "MUST DO OR DIE" situation.

Edit: I said i'll pay tomorrow i do want to pay, a friend was going to send coins he owe me but he didn't and i was out of coins. (Well, still out of coins.)

The "item transferred" was the video. You offered to pay for his time, and you wasted his time.
You should not make jokes and make people do work for you. If you said you were going to pay x BTC for logo design, or an exchange, would you call it a joke after they delivered to you?

When do you plan on paying the owed bitcoins?

The only fair solution is to pay 0.5 btc (<--- Thats a lot...), because like B!Z said, you wasted his time. Just to let you know XDeathWing, most people usually say "jk" when they are trying to say a joke, just so that they dont get into trouble like this...

Why would you even offer a joke amount in the first place? How this guy is even a staff member despite making consistently un-constructive posts and being such a young member is also a mystery. You should make this right and pay them out the amount they were promised, there is no such thing as a "joke" during transactions on this forum. Matt N Wright said his bets on the legitimacy of pirate were a "joke" and he got tagged with untrustworthy, perhaps you should have the same done to you if this is not remedied asap.

You honestly just admitted that you scammed just off that first sentence. Nothing has to be transferred to make the situation a scam, that's like saying if I offer a guy 50BTC to do some graphics for me and then don't pay him it's not a scam. Time is just as valuable as money if not more so. Quoted this for future reference.

I'm not too surprised about this.

deathwing seems to be a very young user.

also, he used to beg and drama all day on coinchat, ran an empty faucet and so on.

You made an offer to pay sitnicki 0.5 btc if he made a video and virus scan. sitnicki delivered before you modified your offer. You made no indication in the offer that it was a joke. That's breach of contract and would make you a scammer.

sitnicki was the guy who posted the thread, with a software that was said to give free btc.
As it seemed fishy, xDeath offered 0.5 btc if someone accepted to download the software, run it, and upload a proof.

When sitnicki did it, he though that it might be too much, and edited his post to 0.05 btc.

I think that he intended to give the bounty to anyone, but not sitnicki.
Indeed, if the software is a keylogger, sitnicki who posted it, does not give a shit about being keylogged by himself.
It was not risky for him, like it could have been for someone else.

People thinks that "you" was intended to sitnicki - but it could mean "you" = anyone but him.

The purpose of making a video was to show the result from that virus scan.

Agreed, whether it was supposed to be a joke or not, you made the mistake of not writing something obvious saying it was a joke, (just kidding, etc). You've gotta pay up on it, or the scammer claim is valid.

Edit: I said i'll pay tomorrow i do want to pay, a friend was going to send coins he owe me but he didn't and i was out of coins. (Well, still out of coins.)

You should probably contact sitnicki and tell them that you are waiting on coins from a friend, and give them a reasonable payback date.
