The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

downloaded the client and it will not connect to the network, all my other currencies are talking fine to their networks...

any ideas?

client was downloaded from MEGA

one of my co-workers set up his, and his is working... I'm a bit clueless for this issue, but I have been working with Bitcoin, Litecoin, Feathercoin, Terracoin, PPcoin, and a few others, and I ususally am able to make them work...

the client just sits there with a red x over the network icon... I get the same thing on two different networks (home and work)
