Hello,
if I have some LTC coins on my Ledger Nano S wallet, will I receive 10x LCC coins on 19 February 2018 ? Thank you.
While Ledger have a good record of supporting forks, there's a simple way to make sure you get your coins. - Before the fork, send all coins to an Electrum LTC wallet. - After fork, send them back to your Ledger Nano. - Extract the private key from the Electrum LTC wallet and use that to claim your Litecoin Cash.

The method coinstash gives is absolutely the right thing to do. Substitute Jaxx etc for Electrum-LTC as your prefer.
And remember the golden rule: NEVER paste private keys that hold any currency into ANY website or wallet in order to claim forked coins (including ours). Practice responsible forking! 1. Wait for the fork; 2. Move your Litecoin to a new address; 3. Use the private key for the "old" address to claim your Litecoin Cash.

*sigh* I am confused now, as I see 2 different HOWTOs. I have LTC in an electrum ledger wallet (NOT the ledger bitcoin app). I also have another - yet empty - electrum wallet, from where - months ago - I moved everything out into the ledger electrum wallet. So from what I have understood, I have to do this: - Move all LTC into non-ledger electrum wallet
- Export private keys (Is it ok to export them now, or have I to do this after the fork, when it´s empty again?)
- Wait for fork to happen
- AFTER fork I move LTC back to ledger electrum wallet
- Create new LCC wallet
- LCC wallet: Import private keys from non ledger wallet
Are these the appropriate steps or did I miss something? Regarding: "never paste private key in a wallet, which holds currency" --> What would happen, if I let all my LTC stay in the non-ledger wallet, instead of moving it back to the ledger wallet, AND then claim the coins by pasting the key in LCC wallet?

You will need to have your litecoin stored in a wallet where you are able to access your private keys. You can do this with Jaxx, Exodus, or electrum for litecoin. Online wallets like coinbase wont show you your private key.

Charlie Lee creator of LTC has issued warning about any expected fork that they have no collaboration with these. Litecoin going to face same fate which every coin sees when it is climbing the stairs of success. It can be good for share the burden of transactions using this forked coin in future. Well needs to see what is next on the table.

@2toestommy - No, it's neither. It's the private key. It's not something you normally see unless you go and look for it. @easyrimka - No announcements yet, watch this space @kurbeks - There's no fast-block, cheap-transaction, modern SHA256 coin with decent difficulty adjustment. Owners of older SHA256 hardware have very limited choices where to send hashpower. @zaratu - Help->Debug console, then "dumpprivkey SOMEADDRESS". However, don't even copy the key into your clipboard until after the fork when you've already safely transferred your LTC to a new location. @pumz - Indeed, I'd like to stress we have no affiliation with or connection to the Litecoin team apart from that we love those guys, and we share 1371111 blocks of their blockchain PRACTICE SAFE FORKING, FOLKS! <3

Ok, I see that there is need to detail the doing to recieve LCC. preconditions:- You have LTC in you primary wallet or an excange
- You have a secondary wallet (single use wallet)
- You have downloaded and installed the LCC wallet
procedure:- Transfer your LTC before the Fork to your secondary wallet
- Whait until the Fork is done
- Transfer your LTC back to your primary wallet or excange
- Go to your secondary (now empfty) wallet and export / copy the private key(s)
- Create a LCC Wallet and import the private key(s)
- Optional: Transfer your LCC to your primary wallet / excange
result:- Amout of LTC in your primary wallet / excange
- Amout of LCC (10x LTC) in your LCC wallet

It looks like more and more people are coming out for expected fork to get airdrop for their LTC holdings. If other coins can be forked to improve the code and functionality then why not LTC ? I have few coins not much but since it is open source anyone is free to do improvements in codes to make it better.
