I have a new feature proposal for the forum software. I don't think I saw this in the features.

Maybe we can have a new section in the forum header along side "Show new replies to your posts", "Watchlist" called "Show new quotes to your posts".

This feature will display all the posts that quoted your posts and you will be able to reply faster especially in multiple page threads.

What do you think? Would this be helpful for you?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

I have a new feature proposal for the forum software. I don't think I saw this in the features.
Someone suggested something similar to this (although not exactly the same): Quote indicator

Maybe we can have a new section in the forum header along side "Show new replies to your posts", "Watchlist" called "Show new quotes to your posts".

Although it will be nice to have such feature, it might result in users answering the quotes/posts that have been answered by someone else.

How (steps that lead to the above line):

1. Someone quotes a post and replies
2. Then someone else answers that particular post (regarding common cases and etc...)
3. At the end, the other user clicks on the "Show new quotes to your posts" and just replies to each of those, without reading the whole thread (from where he/she left off) and end up repeating someone else's answer.

I think you misinterpreted my proposal.

Example:
1. User A creates post A
2. User B creates post B by quoting post A (which belongs to User A)
3. User A clicks on Show new quotes to your posts and sees post B (which belongs to User B)

So, user A does not need to check through long threads (that have multiple pages - for example an announcement thread where everybody asks questions) to check replies to his posts thus easier & fast to manage.

Seems straight forwards and useful to me. What do you think?

I usually use "Ctrl+F" & my nickname and see all my messages's quote.
Although I admit, I also thought about what you are offering.

I think it's a very practical feature, especially on the discussion sections. In the current state of the forum it's quite hard to keep control of who argued your post and therefor wanted to start a discussion. It could be in the form of a notification tab, where you can see a list of people that have quoted your post.

Yeah, I do that all the time when I'm in front of a laptop but I sometimes use my smartphone and it would be easier to just click a link, don't you agree? Smiley

Yes, especially when you post in very active threads that get a lot of exposure. Your post and the quotes to it will be buried instantly.
I found myself digging for my posts and their quotes multiple times.

This would be a nice feature to have in the next forum software.

I think this is a wonderful proposal. Such a function will make it more convenient to search for answers to personally your posts. With such a function it will be much easier to conduct a dialogue with other forum participants. Now you really have to flip through the topic, in order to find a response to your posts. This is inconvenient, plus sometimes you can miss something by mistake, simply because you did not notice someone's answer.

I also use this thing but I think that the proposal above will be a helpful one. Although I am not expecting to use is (since I think my posts are not quotable enough), forum members whose posts receive much replies will have a lesser burden. Thumbs up!

Theres no doubt it would improve conversation involvement and continuation by participants.   however there is the problem that people over quote and dont edit or cut down the quotes they make.  Also the quote system now doesnt discard the quotes within the persons post that you are replying to.   So theres a danger you would get a notification for someone who didnt even address you especially.

So yea good idea but it would need to discard older quotes also unless the person goes basically specifically to that post to reply.

Yes, that's a good point. The last quoted post should be added to that notification list.

Although, I wouldn't mind having this feature "as is" first and refining it later. Smiley

I like your idea. Sometimes I want to see someone quoted one of my posts in a thread, but I find it very difficult to find and take a lot of time.
And I think this is a good idea, the forum management should consider this.

If there's a poll to this idea, I'll give +1 to this idea  Wink

IMHO.. I think it's very useful, which's to build more constructive conversations in a thread and we can respond some conversation much faster thank before

I think it would save a lot of time for us and you will be able to join a discussion on multiple threads more easily.

Good idea! I've added the poll option to this thread.
Hopefully @theymos will see it and he will consider implementing it as soon as possible.

Yeah, I know. It was recently implemented but it would be nicer if you can just go to a place where all your quoted posts are located and are private.

From what I can see the post you create in Off-topic is going to be public, right?
Not to mention that I have visited that thread multiple times and the status is DOWN.

Yeah, they are visible to everyone, but if you make a self moderated thread you can delete them. I use a thread that I made for completly different purpose, but its only for testing.

It is working for me now.

That's why I have already suggested that notification to be received to our telegram channel would be great and we can create a separate account for that purpose only, but no one considered that as an option. I'm still waiting to see someone having good tech knowledge will figured out how to combine those two bots in order to gain maximum output with these bots Smiley

How about if we combine those two bots with few modifications,

We can get instant notifications for our Telegram when somebody will type @yourUsername. Isn't that great Smiley

~

Piggy already implemented the telegram notifications, check the OP

Quote
NEW
Telegram notification added(need some testing to make sure everything works)

For who is already registered just send a pm with options in the subject of the bot and add in the body:

Code:
telegram:yourTelegramUsername

Before or after you have done this you need to contact @Maggiordomo_Service_bot on telegram with the same telegram username used for registering and just write something to him so he can bind your telegram and forum account togheter.

If you are not subscribed yet send a pm with subscribe in the subject to the bot and add in the body:
Code:
telegram:yourTelegramUsername
or
Code:
telegram:yourTelegramUsername
linkToYourThread
if you want to receive the notifications on both.

I hope mod must implement this kind of tool
example: https://smallseotools.com/plagiarism-checker/

With all those article spinners it's almost impossible to detect plagiarism anymore.

That's not a bad suggestion maybe you could create a new thread about it.
Let's keep this thread clean and keep the discussion on-topic, which is quoted replies private notifications.
