Requesting Feedback for New Silver Physical Garlic Bread Loaves

Ahoy, as many of you may have seen in the thread requesting that some people work on physical Garlic coins, I tried my hand at making silver garlic bread loaves to use for wallets.

After 3d modeling, setting the model in plaster, and then casting in silver, I've ended up with a couple of potential variations that I can produce. I'd like people's opinions on what they think is the best.

I'll have an imgur gallery link posted in a bit with more info *edit*(Here are the additional photos https://imgur.com/a/BvzNj), but the three variations are shown represented by the letters A, B, and C. A has a horizontal layered grain pattern. This is a result of the speed of the pour into the plaster mold. B and C have a bumpy grain pattern, however C is more highly finished after a longer duration inside of the rock tumbler + burnishing and polishing media. Its a little hard to tell from the pictures, but if you know about coins, C is smoother and has a more prooflike finish with less texturing, whereas B is a bit more burnished looking, with more texturing.

Any thoughts? Also, would people like custom made tamper proof stickers like what you'd find on a Cas/Lealana coin, or should I not worry about them, and just let people do whatever they'd like with the bars?

I love these and I want one (or a "basket" of them) ..

IMO, no need for a holo/sticker, I'd just love having this on the desk to play around with

EDIT; If possible, could you sell all 3 variations, as in making several of them?

I think stickers would be great to have.  But I'd still buy one, regardless.

I like the lines that are around the sides of A.  Kind of reminds me of the horizontal burn marks some of the loaves have:

Talking purely from aesthetics perspective, I think 'B' looks the nicest but then again beauty is in the eyes of the bread holder.

I personally think that B feels the best in my hand, but they are all pretty nice feeling. What I like about these, is that they aren't going in airtite containers. You can put your hands on them, toss them around, throw them in your pocket, fire them at someone breaking into your house, etc. If they get tarnished, polish them. You don't polish coins because they typically have some type of treatment done on them at the mint which you can wear away by cleaning them, these are a different story.

From what I've seen so far, I may be better off just making all types and letting people pick their favorites. Its pretty cool how really minor differences in how they are produced make dramatic differences in how they come out. I'll share all of that when I have time as well, for those interested. I'll probably get tamper proof stickers in case someone wants to put a wallet on them, however if people aren't hugely interested in fancy custom stickers, I'll just get some standard ones just so you know if your keys were compromised at show and tell.

Anyway, please keep sharing feedback. I really appreciate it, and it will likely shape the direction I go from here.

This is in no way a knock on your work as I wish I had your skills...but A looks to much like a foil wrapped Baked-P IMO.  B and C no question.  I think the cleanest look (B) will be more recognizable and in return ..collectible.  All IMO of course!

I'd vote for B since it looks the most uniform and if you went ahead with it, a tamper proof sticker wouldn't be a bad addition.

I haven't decided on this yet. I'm probably going to auction off the first couple to try and get a feel for what the correct market price is for something like this. Seeing as each one is going to be slightly different, its going to be hard to set a standard price, but after I get some data, I can probably figure it out.

The bars are 81.59, 81.49, and 87.62 grams. I'm curious as to what caused the deviation in the 87.62g bar, but I'll figure it out next run. In addition, finishing work done on them also shaves off a bit of weight.

Thanks for the support. Everyone's feedback is helping me immensely. I have more or less decided on making a few of each type, but what types people have expressed interest with will certainly be taken into account. Since each bar is a little bit different anyway, that just means that when I go to sell them, I'll list what I have individually, so people can pick which they'd like themselves.

As for the holograms, I'm going with a simple hologram with just the Garlic logo and a number in the order I produce them on it. I'll worry about fancy holograms in the future if I move forward making a SaltySpitoon line of cast physical coins. I actually dislike holograms the most on metal because I think they look kind of cheap/tacky, however as far as functionality goes, they work great so that you can show off your collection without someone taking your keys undetected. I'm leaning towards a 0.5x0.5 inch square shape for the smallest footprint, but circles are a bit more forgiving for when you decide to place them, so maybe a 0.5 or 0.75 inch circle instead. Paper wallets don't take up a lot of space (I've got a few ~ the size of a pea) but every producer on the market uses 1 inch or larger circle holograms. If anyone has opened a few Cas coins or similar, do you have any idea why the need for the excessively large holograms? As far as I can tell its just about the aesthetics, but if anyone knows otherwise, please let me know.

If I find an answer to that, I can order the holograms today, have them by the weekend, and go from there.

For me i use 25mm holos for the private key size underneath.  Anything smaller you have font that is hard to read imo, but i have always used full private keys i guess with compressed you might be able to get away with smaller holos.

Hmm, interesting, thanks for the info. I'm looking at a couple of 20mm circles, but they are a tad large maybe. I can go larger with rectangles/ovals, but I don't know if having the entire bottom covered in a sticker would mess with the feel.

Yes... I would agree, that for the most part the larger holograms are to show off a nice design or the maker's name/logo on their hologram.
Also to add, would be the addition of windows on some makers holograms to have the 1st bits display, possibly warranting a need of a larger hologram.

Hmm, those would be second batch holograms if I decide its worth making fancy labels.

*Edit* I'm just going to pull the trigger with the simple 0.75 inch circular stickers. If they aren't optimal, I'll reevaluate and go from there. I feel like its better to just push forward and have mistakes happen in front of my eyes rather than hypothesize what would be best and take forever making a decision. Also, my day job is building bridges.
